    Sydney to destroy Carlton

Apparently Pagan has given them a tough week, really running the crap out of the players on the paddock. They are playing a INTRA-CLUB game later in the week.

All this after their long trip and thrashing in Perth.

    Ratten's just announced his retirement.

It might just change things a little.............

maybe a margin of just 60 odd points

BTW, went along to the kids clinic run by the Swans today, a top day to be out on the SCG I must say.

Maxfield Crouch and O'Keefe all looked pretty free, I'd be surprised if neither of them came up on Satdy. Saddo wasn't there.

Doyle and Fixter both looked pretty good as well and mentioned we should see them both in the ressies the weekend after next.

It's inconceivable that Crouch won't play!

If Saddo doesn't come up probably a good opportunity to give Powell another go.

If Maxfield ain't ready I guess Sunny keeps his spot - he probably deserves it after his efforts at the weekend.

If O'Keefe doesn't play maybe its a chance to give NOG another run in the seniors. Unless the club has already made their mind up about him its probably more important to give him a go than to blood Thewlis, Dempster etc. Their turn will come in the next year or so.

I was there too, I took my nephews. I was so impressed by their professionalism and the way they conduct themselves. A big well done to the guys.

Jared looked fine, he was leading the group with one of my nephews and while taking them through their paces was moving well.

Ryan was leading one of the goal kicking sessions, and looked good as well.

Was there as well with my 3 sons.

              A great day.

Agree 100 % on the injury analysis of the previous posts

BBBH was the most popular for autographs.

Great to see the coach come out as well for the "oldies"

Amazing isn't it. Has arguably the most ugly mug at the club but clearly the most popular with the kiddies (particularly the girls).
That said I think Schneider is not far behind.

I believe we should show some respect for Carlton. Although they were trashed by WC that doesn't mean they'll be easy beats on Saturday. Dennis Pagan is a good coach and he'll make the Swans earn their victory. I've got this strange feeling that it's not going to be an easy game, after all Carlton is playing for their pride. We'll see.

Agree i too am a bit worried about this match, and now i'm alot more worried after Ratten announced his retirement. Carlton will no doubt lift... and also we have a pretty poor record in games that have some significance to the other team (VS Hawthorn rd 22 at Waverly 1999 and the death of young Jack Stone 2 years ago when we looked flat and lost to Melbourne at the SCG)

I'm pretty sure with our form we'll still overcome this hurdle, but i don't think that it will be thumping we'll be expecting. A 1 point victory will satisfy me, but of course i hope the they prove me wrong and thrash the carlscum!!!

Without Ratten actually playing, I'd be surprised if they got any 'lift' out of it at all. I think they'll be flat as tacks.

We're clearly superior on paper... Martyn on Hall?? BWA HA HA HAH HA HA!

Only if the Swans go there thinking its already in the bag - and on this season's evidence there's no reason to believe they will. Maybe the Blues will be spurred on by last week's thrashing, or by Ratten's retirement, but I don't honestly think they have the cattle to match ours if we play to even 75% of our ability.

                            Sydney to Destroy Carlton?
It all depends on which boots the team is wearing. 70-90 point win if they have there round 1-12 boots, 40-50 if they have there post round 12 boots.

                              Hmmm...

1.Carlton's fans - and coach - will not allow them to surrender the game as easily as last week.

2.Ratten's retirement is a plus for us.

3.Let's not forget that some players are playing for their careers at this time of year - witness Eagleton's recent form for the Dogs.

4.Will Martyn play ? A terrific player in his day - I rate him , Fletcher , Macintosh and Dunkley the best FBs of the past few years - but past it now.
Roos will surely target him as a weak link - I'd play Bazza in the square , as I think we can manage without him at CHF for this game.
Otherwise , Goodes could give him a hard time , though Ball will surely need more help in the ruck this week.
Carlton may well 'flood' for this game.

So , it'd be foolish to underestimate Carlton , but I think our class will give us a 4-5 goal win.

And I echo the comments of those who went to the kids' clinic yesterday - great work , Swans.
