Nick Davis' future definitely lies in the midfield. As for trading, I don't think Saddington is going to get any better for us and should be looked at. On the other hand, I think Fosdike is playing well this year and will be needed when Cressa calls it a day.

Glad it's not just me who has been disappointed by Fossy this season.

I thought his last 10 games of 2002 were superb and climaxed with him awarded Most Improved at the B&F night.

This season, he is not racking up the big possession numbers and he is not disposing of the ball thoughtfully 90% of the time. Craig Bolton has surpassed him for influence in the midfield after 2 games there.

Schnieds and Nick Davis will both be goal kicking midfielders next year.

Have liked Nick's games in the midfield this year. He is sacrificing his own game to set up goals for Mick and Baz so when we gets full fitness, he will be a real force. Reads the game so well and always uses it. Liked that contested mark against the Crows. Thought that was a mini step to gaining the toughness he has to find as well.

Saddo needs to find form and fast otherwise he will be shown the door should Heath get back to the form we know he has.

I'm not so sure about Saddington being traded. He is definitely one of the players that could go if he does not improve. I'd wait for a couple of weeks to make a decision and probably play him in a different position.

Let's get a bit of sanity back into this debate, unless they can pull off an amazing coupe by getting a quality KPP from another club Saddington is going nowhere.

We struggle for height down back as it is and that is why he is getting the players he is now and struggling.

As pointed out by others, with Creswell, Maxfield and Willo all going in the next couple of years I doubt Fosdike will also be on the trade list, unless a suitable swap of an expeirenced player can be arranged.

One of the pleasing aspects at present is the fact we do have depth and spots are hard to come by. If we traded/delisted like some on this board want to and filled the spots with draft picks then you lose that back-up and compertion for spots drops away.

I for one think their will be very minimal changes to the list at the end of this year, maybe just the required minimum. If we do elect to trade a "Nicks" it will only be for a proven mature player that can fill a KP or a player to replace Creswell.

Saddo cant hold Carey for one game and everyone wants to trade him. He has been one of our better players over the last couple of years. Keep him i reckon. Strong marker and a good kick.

I Remember last year everyone wanted to trade Magic cause he was down on form. Good thing the club did'nt listen!! Look at him this year.

Its not just the one game, Saddington has always shown promise, but has never quite taken the next step. I would hate to have to trade him, but if we are going to go after a key backman, then the opposition is going to want something of value in return. Maybe if James can step up we will not even have to bother thinking about trading a player like Saddington.

Unfortunately the current generation seem to possess the attention spans of gnats. If it didn't happen in the last half of the game it's barely worth contemplating.

How these 'dud players' keep managing to clock up 100+ games is beyond me. You'd think the selection committee would cotton on at some stage.

as much as we all hate Carey he is a great player when firing and Saddo, learnt the hardway on Sunday. His game prior to this one had him returning from injury and yes was average. He's missed a lot of footy, and is working on getting back into it.

Give the guy a break. Who usually picked up the players he's had to this year. One Andrew Dunkley, who was IMO the most talented fullback runing around (ok exclude his kicking style). Saddo's got big shoes to fill. I think we need to give him a chance to do so.

I disagree - until this season I think he has delivered on that promise pretty much. I'm not sure its the injury this season that is hampering him, he probably just needs to lose a bit of hair. He didn't get many games in the ACTAFL before coming back (one ?) so his game time has been very restricted. Prepare to eat your words Syd.

Then I will have to look for someone else to trade, so watch out Mathews, Fosdike, Nicks(not that we would get anything for him) Ablett, Stevens, Warfe, and Seymour

I would like to see Saddo up forward (CHF) due to the fact he always wants to contest and take a grab instead of punch where those more natural to the back end of the field freely punch and grab, or on the wing where he can run with height

Not one person would be complaining about Saddington's poor efforts at CHB if he wasnt required to play there in the first place. He is not, and has never been, a CHB. He should be playing on the HB flank or wing, allowing him to use his height and pace to help our rebound and attack.

This all comes down to the same thing with people complaining about Schauble being a bad FB. He is NOT a FB. Both these guys, along with C.Bolton, have been asked to play out of position all year, and will continue to do so, until we get a decent FB.

With this addition, all of a sudden our defense goes from undersized, to being probably one of the best around. Just look at the possibilities, having Schauble at CHB, Kennelly and Saddo on each wing, Barry and Bolton on a HB flank. Crouch or Matthews and possibly James in the pockets. That has got to be a potent backline.

It's always good for a laugh to login on a Tuesday night and see which Swans player is copping the hiding for the week.

Must admit I'm a bit confused that Saddo is in the frame. His name would be one of the first the selection committee puts on the team board each week. And I thought Schaubs and Saddo put in good performances against Adelaide - Adelaide's two key forwards only kicked 7 goals between them didn't they? - and the defence kept Adelaide down to what should have been a losing score, didn't they?

Admittedly, the Swans two key forwards only managed 5 goals between them, but maybe that was Saddo's fault somehow?

How these 'dud players' keep managing to clock up 100+ games is beyond me. You'd think the selection committee would cotton on at some stage.

Ah! A voice of reason! As has already been pointed out, Saddo is highly regarded by other clubs, and by Roos, and by the selection committee. In fact by everyone except a few half-wits on this board.

Saddo cant hold Carey for one game and everyone wants to trade him.
Not quite everyone, but I understand your sentiment.

BTW, I'm a bit confused by the apparent insistence that Saddington and Schauble can't go head to head with key forwards. Exactly how many times did Saddington get out-muscled by Carey? I can remember one instance, but there obviously must have been dozens that I missed?
