    Stop Press: Heritage Jumper

    Hi All,

Was down at Melbourne Sports Depot at lunch today looking to buy a new Swans jumper for a mate as a birthday present and ran into a Puma rep replenishing stock.

She pulled out a copy of the jumper to be worn this week in the heritage game and told me that a limited run of only 200 would be made and be available at selected shops for $110.00 per jumper.

They are all white with the red V and have red piping around the sleeves with "South Melbourne Premiers 1933" on the back. They also have the AFL & QBE logo on the front with a QBE logo on the back and will be the same worn this weekend.

Needless to say I purchased 2 on the spot.

For those of you who live in Melbourne, she indicated that most of the 200 would be sold in Sydney, so if you are interested then get in quick as the sizes will be limited.

You can see most of the heritage jumpers on afl.com.au unfortunately the Swans one is being launched later in the week. Hawthorn Mayblooms will certainly look very different!!

Sorry the Swans jumper is there. It's a replica of the the 1933 premiership one

I called about a dozen places in Sydney and no one has even HEARD of the jumper, let alone carry stock. The club doesn't seem to have a clue they're being sold in retail outlets either. I'm going to call a couple of places in Melbourne tomorrow, they might have an idea.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Hmmmm....might have to make a stop at MSD tomorrow (will hopefully get a chance while I'm there).

            I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

                Hi Guys,

Try calling PUMA direct they should be able to tell you where they are selling them from or even let you buy directly off them.

As I said originally I knew nothing about it until I walked into MSD in Swanston street at lunchtime today and bumped into the PUMA sales rep.

She indicated only 200 were being made and that they were not being widely distributed. The club may not know becuase my understanding is they were planning to auction the exclusive jumpers worn by the players this week, with direct sales they may not want the compertion and so PUMA are doing it on the sly.

Good luck finding some, just hope that the order I paid for today comes through as they are sure to be a collectors item for all the South Melbourne/Sydney supporters out there.

Until they make guernseys that are comfortable to fat porkers like myself and the Fly, I'll not be wearing any sort of guernsey at all. So personaly speaking, I don't care. My collection of red/white polos are here to stay!

Seriously I think the Swans should develop a second strip. Personally regardless of the history etc etc etc etc zzzzz I think we should try a more eyecatching second strip. Maybe red with a white SFC (like Sturt in the SANFL.). Or red with a white Swan, similar to that of the WA State guernsey.

History is fine. But I like my team to be in an aggressive firey colour when they run out, NOT wimping anoemic white.

I was under the impression that they weren't for sale, as the Team of the Century guernseys weren't either.

But it doesn't hurt asking, does it?

PS:- I have the 1996 Centenary guernsey. Maybe I can try and squish into it on Saturday night?(Robbie, you can wear it if you desparately want to.)

I just spoke with Belinda, from the Sydney membership team and they are not aware of these. The only ones the club are aware of are those the players are wearing and auctioning on ebay.

Sounds like the ****'s going to hit the fan between the club and Puma

Don't know if having "1933 premiers" is a good thing. Personally i would not walk around with that showing the year the club last won a flag.

                          its embarrasment bro.
