    Swans v Hawks

Early on , Schneider in everything . Gets our 1st goal. Schaubs also going OK with a few early marks. Hawks 3 goals to our 1 . Could be a tough night. Hall roves a goal . But now 4 goals to 2. Their high marking is a problem for us as well as their work around the stoppages. 1/4 time the Hawks up by 13 points.

First goal to the Hawks. 19 points down now. Thompson goals we are behind by 23 points. Lead blown out to 34 points now . We look tired . We miss Ball badly . now 41 points . ROK goals . Thank God. Schneids goals after a great pass from BBB. 29 points down but looking better. Everitt killing us in the ruck. Hawks goal.

3rd quarter. Goal to Hawks , lead now 41 points . We are lethargic , no dash . little movement. Maybe the Crows game flattened them. But then it did not stop the Crows today. Pity, because the crowd seems very large. Another Hawk goal. 48 points difference. BBB goals after good work from Mickey O . BBB goals again. Swans have lifted . Cressa goals now down to 30 points. ROK goals we have kicked 4 in a row. Back to 24 points . But Everitt is back on . Cressa is playing well. We are in this game. Mickey goals . What an effort . Shades of the Demons game Go!!!!! 18 points only.now . Holland marks over Schaubs and goals . Hell .

Last quarter. Jude you beauty !! Now 19 points. Rawlings goals rom a free. . Another free to Hawks and they goal again . The umpires often ruin a game. The worst feature of AFL. Nicks goals after a Schneids pass. Crouch sneaks one through. 19 points now. Hawks goal. That is it And another to the Hawks BBB gets his 4 th. Goodes gets one and we are back to 18 points. Final margin is 17 points . BUMMER

    THE CROWD being 34 ,800.

I can't watch the game, but according to the stats, Swans are showing the same attitude towards the game as they did against Crows. Slow start might eventually cost them a game. This could be very costly.

Don't bother it would be too painful. If they loose against Hawks I think the season is over. And it looks to me they will.

Game was over when the umpires kicked the Hawk's first two goals of the final quarter.

Fightback looked good but there were a couple (at least) that could'nt handle the pressure.

              Any guesses?

This time I wouldn't blame umps for our loss. maybe we should look else where for answers. I hope Roosy might give us some explanation.

Commentators were saying tonight maybe the adelaide game took it out of us but, the hawks had an equally tough game last week and they had to travel to our home ground as well.
Not saying you are saying that swansbest, but the hawks from what i can gauge from the radio were the better team.

Last week we were touted as being magnificent against the premiership favourites and were looked at as stiff to lose, and tonight happens and you think where exactly do we stand as a footy team in regards to a serious crack in the finals.

Tonight seemed to me as a real backwards step.

Well I thought Mathews (few possessions), Fosdike(lack of finesse) and Nicks(lack of phyisical vigour and teamplay) looked
                        on the edge of acceptablility.

The stats are are a bit off line but you can get the general impression . Some of the players possessions were way down compared to normal.

Mathews I believe was dragged in the 1st quarter for "pulling out". Got little ground time after that.
                            TIME TO GO Ben Mathews.

Nick Fosdike - Oh my goodness he was poor. Think he may have got a real mouthful at 3/4 time as he got near a couple of packs late, but that was only token stuff because he did nothin when he got there. Disposal atrocious. Right off him.

Mathew Nicks - Just plain **** himself a couple of times.

Scott Stevens - any chance he might get in front of his man or at least know where to run in the forward line. Simply gets in the way up forward. If Heath James in not worth a chance in front of him them then I will walk naked, backwards up Bourke Street in a stooped position.

Who was it that said Saddington should play on the wing? Did he start there tonight or were my eyes were deceiving me. He is really struggling, and there should be no more fitness excuses. Maybe he has dropped into the comfort zone of life. Getting towelled up each week.

Thanks to Christ, Allah and Buddha for Andrew Schauble, for without him we would have been belted.

Didn't really notice Schaubs much on the ground - but maybe that's the sign of a defender doing a good job. Certainly the rest of the defence was pretty ordinary - where was the run from Kennelly and Leo?

For mine, Kirk had a decent game and certainly worked very hard but I thought many of his disposals were not up to his normal standard, particularly by hand.

Jude can be reasonably satisfied with his night's work. Not his best game ever but he did what was expected of him.

Schneider was certainly exciting when he got near the ball, and his second goal was a superb kick.

Bazza had a decent game as well, from limited opportunities.

Goodes was, for me, by far our best player and the one who stopped us getting pummelled by 50+ points. In the first half he was the only one who looked like he was having a dip.

Where was the rest of the team? We can't afford to have 15 odd passengers on a night and hope to come away with 4 points. While I'm not having a go at them - they've each delivered the good on numerous occasions - having our three senior midfielders all go AWOL was a huge problem. Cressa came to life for about two minutes early in the 3rd quarter but then seemed to drop back into a slumber, and Maxie really looks as if he's struggling with some kind of injury.

Stevens looks lost out on the ground, and Nicks really isn't doing enough to justify his spot at the moment.

I am so so disappointed with that effort. Why now, when they have so much to play for?
