Agree on Kennelly with the kickouts - I have my heart in my mouth everytime he takes them. Davis should be taking more of them. Should push Kennelly into the midfield next season.
Skill level was down by the whole team tonight, not hitting targets with our usual precision. Just bumbling and fumbling everything.
I spent a bit of time outside during the aftermatch watching the post-game interview with Roosy. Basically he said the effort was way down, and I agree with that 100%. You could see from very early on, Hawthorn just wanted it more. The number of times our players were within range of a contest but didn't even try to make it annoyed the hell out of me. I've always said I don't care if we lose provided the effort is there, and the effort certainly weasn't last night. Rossy didn't blame the pressure we were under for our poor skills, basically saying you need to be able to play under that pressure anyway. Pressure was a huge difference, we were under plenty at all times, they were under next to none, particularly bringing the ball out of defence.
IMHO 17 points flattered us. I can't help but wonder though if only going down by 17 says something about us maybe being one of those sides in the next few years who might be able to win when we play badly as top sides do, or if it just says a bit about Hawthorn and how they aren't quite up to the mark in not being able to put us away when we played so badly.
I'm on the Chandwagon!!!
If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Agree that we were probably flattered by the scoreline. But the Hawks weren't that great in the second half. I was at the game with a Hawks supporter and at half time he wasn't confident that his team would win because they've developed a habit of getting off to good starts and then stopping at half time.

We'll find out next week when we play Brisbane at the Gabba. They're hot and if they give the Swans a shelacking then we'll know how much competitive they still are.
