Have you read the whole thread? I said, I wouldn't 'ask'. I'm sure there are circumstances where people feel the need to swap their support of teams. I will not 'knock' someone if that is the case.

The fair call was regarding to defending collingwood and not abusing anyone on the board as he is a visitor, not the post you are referring to. Sorry I wasn't too clear there.
Come on Joel, it's never too late to divest yourself of that Collingwood nonsense. You seem like a nice enough kind of bloke, but I think you're wrong about how no-one should ever switch teams.
It all depends on which team you switch to. A few of us on this board (myself included) have switched to the mighty Bloods, and believe me it feels good. Suddenly you find that complete strangers are buying you beers, girls are handing you their phone numbers (or blokes if you're that way inclined), financial institutions are approving your loan applications while you wait, and the sun shines more often than not.
May I suggest that you slip into some red and white apparel on Saturday night for a bit of road test? You'll be amazed at how good you will feel. Remember it's never too late to be saved.

Hey who cares anyway. I don't want to start getting into semantics!
I'd rather focus my mind on us winning this Sat.!

It also is a matter of realising that you've been supporting the wrong team!

I'll never swap. Having said that, my grandmother is an old South Melbourne supporter (now a Swans supporter). In 1996, I got up at about 6 and went down the MCG on GF day (with my uncle), hoping to score some tickets off some scalpers for my grandmother (and another three of us). I was all dressed in red and white that day, but that is the closest I will ever come to supporting Sydney. Oh yeah, we got into the game, they were selling tickets at the gate.
So, I have a soft spot for Sydney, but that is only because my grandmother supports them.
