Cupido??? Has kicked 30+ goals and can play in the midfield. A forward line can only one or two small forwards, and in any case we have Shane Harvey and Corey McGrath come through the reserves.

I'm not saying Schneider isn't a good player, but we've already got our quota.

We will have to delist players, but those three are part of the core(Solly, Danny, Scotty), so I dont see it happening. As I mentioned Misiti might be the one to go, which wouldn't be a major loss as the game has passed him by.

Cara,Blumfield,Heff hadn't lived up to expectations. I think we expected at least one of them to take the next step and none of them did.

We got pick 30 for Blumfield which I admit isn't a great trade, however we would of received Mark Alvey from the Bulldogs had the trade time not expired.

You just have to look at the seasons Blumfield, Caracella, Heffernan have had. Caracella in/out of Brisbane, Heffernan very average for Melbourne and Blumfield injured and disappointing. In the end our salary cap problems were a blessing in disguise as we had to reassess the list sooner that what we would of.

As much as I hate to say it i have to agree with you there Neorod, getting rid of Caracella, Blumfield and Heffernen has actually been a real positive for Essendon.

Those 3 while regular senior players were not improving and it has allowed Sheeds to inject some new blood into the team.

It has accelerated your rebuilding (not in the traditional sense) phase and could see the bombers with a premiership sooner than what otherwise would have been the case.

Fortunately for us your stuck with Mercuri for another season at least

I don't blame you for putting the best possible spin on what transpired last year, but for those of us on the outside it looked much more like an hysterical response to a crisis than a proactive re-assessment of the list. And I think I'll wait until this time next season before assessing the performance of Caracella, Heffernan and Blumfield with their new clubs.

Regardless of that, I don't think anyone on this Board expects that more than one or two of the out-of-contract players at Essendon will be up for trade, and then only if the Bombers have another salary cap crisis (sorry, I mean list re-assessment).

But most importantly, it gives us something to do when we've exhausted all our whingeing about last week's match.

I'd agree that those trades might have been a blessing in disguise had they solved the problem. Unfortunately it looks as if the cap is still very tight and there remains a real possibility that the Bombers will have to let go of a player they really want to keep.

Jacobs is the most useless player on earth, he's not tough enough I would pick Mcveigh(he's a tough little player)over Solomon because I hear he wants to play with us and thats very important

Essendon is renowned for screwing teams it trades with. And it rarely gets rid of decent plays, Wanga because it was forced. They have done much better out of clearing Blumfield, Heffernan and Caracella that most would have thought. Beware!
