    The kids

We've seen alot more of the kids this year than I can remember for awhile. I reckon most of it has looked alright. Here's my take on it.

Schneider-What a season he's had. A revelation. great to see Roos placing him around the ground rather than just as a crumbing forward. Can't wait to see how much further he's developed by next year and I'm looking forward to seeing how he copes with the finals. I predict that a large number of fans will start getting around with 36 on the back of their Swans guernsey's.

LRT-Another revelation. Still a little under-cooked in my view, but he's provided us with some special moments. Generally looking more confident as the season heads towards finals. Is he a potential #1 ruckman?

Powell-I don't reckon that we got to see enough of him this season. Has his body been up to more footy this year, or was his amount of game-time right for where he's at? Personally, I like the look of him a whole lot. With a bit more beef on him... My favourite piece of play this year (involving youngsters) occurred in the Brisbane game at the SCG earlier this year, when MP picked up the ball in the HF area and got it over to a running Schneider who was headed for the big sticks. From memory it got turned over somewhere between AS and the goals, but I was elated by the tremendous effort of two kids backing themselves without any senior players nearby.

Meiklejohn-I think he's got something. Saturday night wasn't the best opportunity for him (I didn't think so). He doesn't seem to have stood out as much to me this year. He looks like he's got some reasonable size to him. Could be a strongman for the club (not unlike Dipper) especially in the ruck division. Better luck to him for next year.

Sundqvist-He's an enigma to me. Do others have him sized up fpr a particular job on the ground? I guess I see him as potential midfielder. Not too many opportunities for him either as yet this season.

Only my view on some of our seedlings. No doubt I've missed names-these are the ones that are most obvious (to me at least).

    Thoughts?

They better not be too hasty - he might change numbers.

There's a few #41 guernseys around the SCG.

In about two years or so when I can afford another guernsey, I'll put Schneider's number on the back. The "kids" have had a fantastic year and I'm very proud of them.

Schnieder is a real gun. The Swans will do well to hang on to him.

I second that with most getting a taste of the seniors and doing extremely well. They have exceeded expectations considering this is the start of the swans 'rebuilding'

Pleas excuse ignorance, but who was 41? Kennelly? Kelly?

Its a big call, but I think Powell might be the best out of this lot. His attack on the ball is just ferocious, and his leaping ability will make him a crowd favourite for years to come.

Powell reminds me of a Glen Archer/Dean Solomon

He will be the backbone of our defence in future years

I remember thinking last year how small he was. When you look at him from earlier this year to now you can tell he's bulked up a bit more.

He is exciting to watch. I like the way attacks the ball and has a good over head mark, but also can fly if he needs to. His pace is good. And he also has a side step Leo would be proud of.

Powell looks the business, LRT is improving fast, shows quickish hands and good skills low down for a tall but needs to beef up, Sundquist I agree with the enigmatic tag, not sure about him, Schneider a potential star, if he can add staying power to his pace can play many roles, good tackler, great kick..big heart, got it all except height really! Meiklejohn is a good prospect, he has bulk already just needs to learn and the Stadium last weekend was not an ideal time..if he stays injury free and plays of the bench he can support Doyle, Goodes can run free and LRT/Powell can be groomed for key roles.
                            Looking good I reckon!

Powell will definitely be crucial in the Swans defence in the years to come.
