    Thanks ugg.

Sounds like the normal memebers reserve is classified as Category 3 then.

Is it just me or are ticket prices extremely high. I have been to a final at the MCG and it cost about 3 times less. Why are they so high?

That's assuming the categorisations remain the same. I have rugby world cup tickets too and those seats behind the goals are category 2.

Couldn't possibly have 3 times less for a prelim final !

They're not cheap, but not extortionate either.

Well it wasn't a preliminary final, it was only a qualifying, but I thought they were the same price anyway.

Regardless of the price I will still be going, I just will be pissed off if I payed $60 for nose bleed seats where I need a telescope to identify players.

Craig, all ticket prices for finals are set by the AFL and are pretty much the same for each ground. The only difference will be in the premium or catergory 1 tickets which are slightly more expensive at the "Stad De Oz" than the "G".

Alot of people will tell you that Preliminary Final day is bigger than the Grand Final. It is the day all fans of the clubs can go and cheer their team becuase access is on a first come first served basis. I have been to the last 8 Grand Finals and for atmosphere and drama Prelimanary Final days are streets ahead.

$60.00 for the cheapest tickets are an absolute bargin.

              The seating plan (with categories)

now, someone hold onto this for next year, because I'm b*ggered if I'll be able to find it again.

I guess the cat 3 tickets must be on the ends, which were (re-)added after the map was done ?

You have to make sure you get tickets near the exit from Homebush (and not too high up the helter-skelters) so that you can get yourself and your sleeping bag to ticketek ASAP for GF tickets

I went to prelim finals at the MCG in 1999, 2000 and 2001; and the tickets in all 3 years cost around $45.
Make no mistake - Sydney fans are getting majorly screwed here.

Totally agree. I hope that this doesn't reduce the size of the crowd. If a family want to go, it's going to cost them around $200 which is a lot of money for a game of footy.

We have spoken with the Club. Prices are set by the AFL (who incidentally get all the revenue, only the equalisation stuff goes to the Club, so the larger Clubs make money out of our success). Apparently due to the uproar over the excessive prices (and Port fans were bitching yesterday about paying $40 for a game - well the did get beat!) there is discussion going on, which is why the prices have been pulled from the website, more details will follow.
