Diego you could always try to get one of the members (who hasn't bought a ticket yet) to buy a ticket for you and you could then pay them back - just a suggestion
Originally posted by desredandwhite I'll admit I fronted up at ticketek this morning and bought 20 tickets. BUT, between all the people going, we have 10 memberships.
I don't really mind if a member gets tickets for a large group, to encourage more people to go (ie: a whole footy club etc). I hope not too many found their way into the hands of scalpers - that would suck muchly.

Originally posted by Charlie No offence mate, but this is a PRELIMINARY FINAL! This is for FANS, not a "day out".
You should be able to buy 2 tickets with a membership... no more!
Charlie, read my post again.
I am in favour of selling as many tickets as possible on the proviso that no member misses out on getting a ticket to the game.
At this stage there is no evidence to suggest that a member who wants to go to the game will not be able to walk into a ticketek now and get a ticket.
I think the AFL has been very smart in allowing members to book seats with friends. This will allow them to go along when maybe they might not have and enjoy the game and hopefully they enjoy themselves so much that they come back next year as a member of the club.

Surely they can do that for a H&A match!
This is a PRELIMINARY! This is supposed to be the final where ALL the fans can go... and this is just not looking like it will happen.
People buying 10, 20, 30, 85 tickets on ONE membership is simply not fair. If every member brought 10 tickets, the 80,000 seats would go and only 1/3 of members would get in! Anybody on here who has done this on the one membership is SELFISH!
If I miss out (I have no way of getting to a ticketek, the closest one is 30 minutes away), after waiting for ten years to go to a final of this significance, there will be hell to pay! And the Swans and AFL will be paying it.

Aren't you in the CS Charlie?? They have their own allocation.

Are you absolutely certain? If I ring the Melb. office tomorrow, do you know whether I'll get tickets? Or will they sell the CS allocation if everything else is gone?

I feel the same way. I don't mind the true fans going..but getting tickets for people who are only going b/c its an event really pisses me off. They have every right to be there..but 80 tickets for one membership is wrong.
Where the hell were these people at the start of the year? Oh thats right the swans wernt flavour of the month back then.

Charlie, are you not contradicting yourself here.
You state that ALL fans should be able to go then want to limit tickets sales to members only at this stage.
I go back to my initial email, as long as no Swans member misses out on a ticket to the game if they want to go then what is the problem? And there is no evidence I can't walk into a ticketek tomorrow and buy one.
The only issue they may have created is the effect of scalpers on people who may have wanted to go and see what all the fuss is about but will baulk at the price the scalper is asking and thus denying us the chance to convert to the supporter to a member.
But really when you look at it we have 29,000 members and a potential 65,000 seats to sell to the game which will cover everyone of our members who want to go.
