Hammo, by my calculations there are another 35,000 tickets on sale tomorrow if members want to buy one.

Any member or legit fan will have every opportunity to buy a ticket in the next two days.

I think we all need to take stock here and realise that we have extra capacity at Telstra Stadium to do this and have taken advantage of it.

I am with Charlie on this, whilst badly (and perhaps selfishly) put he has a point.

before saying anything i already have my tickets (so im alright jack) but "it aint fair"

1 member 1 ticket and after that general admission, first come first served, that is (one of the reasons )why both Sydney and melbourne members shell out every year for memberships (and of course loyalty to the club).

Loyalty breeds loyalty and this is not a great example of it !!!!!

I understand the sentiment being expressed here but look at some of the facts

            1. There were only 5000 premium tickets whoich went in a few minutes. Not every member was going to be able to sit on the wing

            2. There are still another 35000 seats left. Surely no one can tell me all of these seats are crap

            3. Members have another full day to purchase tickets before public sale

            4. 1 member 1 ticket applies for the GF but the atmosphere is not as good

            5. For once I get to sit with all the members I know plus friends who regularly attend in a group of 40 (25 members)

            6. This is by far the bext way to fill the ground, and turn it into a cauldron

            7. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts. The 40 of us together will make twice as much noise than if we were all separated. This is a great benefit to members

I really think this is a good idea and will make for a great night

Firstly, congratulations Diego on getting a ticket for the PF. Thanks RWO for keeping me updated. I just love this website! Because of RWO, I told my mum to check on my aunty to see if she bought her ticket. By the looks of things, everybody who wants to buy a ticket will get a ticket for the preliminary final. What worries me is the ticketing for the Grand Final. Where do all the rest of the tickets go to? Thank God for my Cheersquad membership and that people who have been to Banner Making get priority!

Yes it is a day out, Charlie. We need to remember that the way the club really flourishes (any club) is when they get latent fans (sorry about the pun, Sydneysiders) to join in the excitement.

Those people there for a "day out" will still be cheering the Swans, and if we play well they will be back for the next big game. Some of them may even be back for the small games. Every time a club starts to do well (not just ours) the die hard fans start complaining about all the extra people who come along....I would have thought that this is what we are after.....three articles a day in the Herald - during the week, FFS, etc.etc.

We love to bag Adelaide - and the reason they are a bit of a laughing stock is that no one is coming for a "day out." Would you prefer their situation, Charlie?

Sure a few Wobbles fans may call the Sydney mob "bandwaggoners" but they are just as guilty as we are. More to the point if we keep getting three or more crowds a year over 50,000 they will (despite themselves) start to offer grudging respect to the Red and White Army.

I think it's brilliant that someone at the office organises for 30 people to go.

BTW who would have thought at the beginning of the season that the only topic to go near the Ricky Mott record would be one about ticketing? How cool is that?

I couldn't agree more. At the beginning of the year i was BROKE + i didnt know how many games I would be attending....to cut a long story short, I've been to almost every home game which has ended up costing me more than what i would have paid for a membership!

This morning when i heard on the radio 30,000 tix have been sold i was ecstatic for the boys in red and white but absolutely crushed for myself as i'm hoping there will still be 2 decent seats available at 9am tomorrow morning...

Doubt many would disagree that we want as many non-fanatics to come along as possible, and that some of these may become the hardcore fans of the future.

But, selling tickets firstly to members is meant to be a reward for actual support already shown and I agree with Charlie that these people should get a genuine first chance at getting a good seat close to where they normally sit before the general public gets a look in. Realistically, no member who wants to go is going to be denied but many would have been bumped from the premium seating because other members were buying a multitude of tickets for their non-member friends. The public will get their chance to buy a ticket, and there will still be plenty left come Thursday.

True, but it doesn't really matter, as there is 230 CS members in both cities and there will be 230 tickets so no one will miss out.

I'm sure all the members read the email sent today from the club spelling out that the AFL controls the selling of finals tickets, not the club. Looks like the copped a few abusive phone calls yesterday.
