Usually if you book early for the train you get discount fares..At least you do if you book from this end..That way it turns out quite reasonably pricedComment

I think they have a 14 day advance purchase fare for $59 one way. I'd recommend the day train, as the night train is the pits.
Otherwise try the Firefly coach. It is most definitely the fastest and most comfortable of the coach companies. Even if the drivers at night often take drugs to stay awake.
Would love to see a lot of our great Melbourne fans at the Brewery before the match!
