I booked with Virgin for $250 return, leaving Melb at 2.15 Sat and returning 7.15 Sunday.

3 of us will get a room at the City Travelodge for $99

Apart from bussing it, I don't think that it can be done much cheaper

XPT. Don't know what the website is, but it's owned by the NSW rail group, whatever that is.

Usually if you book early for the train you get discount fares..At least you do if you book from this end..That way it turns out quite reasonably priced

As it is out of Melbourne, it is actually Vline who you'd buy your tickets off. <http://www.vline.com.au/> They have an office at Spencer St station.

I think they have a 14 day advance purchase fare for $59 one way. I'd recommend the day train, as the night train is the pits.

Otherwise try the Firefly coach. It is most definitely the fastest and most comfortable of the coach companies. Even if the drivers at night often take drugs to stay awake.

Would love to see a lot of our great Melbourne fans at the Brewery before the match!

I'd imagine we'll be driving together and staying in the same motel Nico. Should be enjoyable, and won't there be some rubbish talked.
