    Nick Davis & Collingwood

I'm gonna feel sorry for nick davis if collingwood wins this year. At least he enjoys playing with us more.
Using hypothesis testing via confidence intervals:

Well Williams and Davis would really be feeling it if they won. Davis especially might consider whether homesickness is worth sacrificing a flag. Blind Freddie could see that they were better placed than us for a tilt this year, getting to the prelim was a bonus. There will be guys with medals around their neck who aren't class players as well who he has let get a flag with his departure. I think the Lions will be competitive but are probably spent and Lappin looks like he injured a rib.

I think he would have been a better player if he had remained at Collingwood because their skill level and delivery into the forward line is much better than ours but Willo has played much better with us.

As the saying goes, "we live and die by our decisions in life". I don't believe Willo has ever regretted moving and Davis is playing with a side which is very close to the equal of Collingwood, and he clearly put family before footy to a point and to his advantage.

Nick's young and we're playing well enough to be contenders next year. Lets not jump the gun. He can still win premierships with us. Hopefully when he does they'll mean more than anything he did or would have done with Coliingwood.

Head up Nick, you've done us proud this year and I'm sure you will do the future.

As Nico said he put his family first which was of more importance. If he's a more settled person due to that, then everything else is just a bonus.

I've a sneaking feeling that Brisbane can win the flag for the third year in a row next week. They are a finals hardened team with a midfield that can match Collingwood. I'm hoping they win.

I'm sure that when Nick came to Sydney he knew that the focus this year was not to win the premiership- but to blood our younger guys.
Luckily enough the team has played sensational, and that was shown by making it through to the preliminary finals- coming equal 3rd with the minor premiers.

It would have been a terrific sight to see Nick receive his premiership medal before any of those boofheads at Collingwood. However, if we had of progressed to next week, I'm not sure we'd have won. Collingwood, as much as it pains me to say, are playing great at the moment. I just hope that Brissie can pip them at the post.

I wonder which team is going in favourites? Can't wait for the 'mind games' this week!

Nick is happier here - who could put up with Malthous and his whingeing and Eddie - come on - we can all see Nick is enjoying his footy - is running up the ground and giving it his all - next year looms as an exciting year for all.

Yes. Unlike players that leave clubs that are not doing well and going to other clubs they think will win the premiership the next year.

Leigh Colbert, from Geelong to Kangaroos. That worked out well!
Nathan Buckley, from Brisbane to Collingwood. How long has that taken?
Wayne Carey, from ???? to Adelaide. We know how that worked out.
Shane Woewodin, from Melbourne to Collingwood. Well, he might get his chance this year. I hope he doesn't.
                    And there had been others....

Nick wanted to come home. You gotta like him for that. Bugger Eddie, Melbourne teams take advantage on players that go to "intersate" teams, and want to come home to Melbourne. After Rocca and S Grant went back to Melbourne, I thought that the draft was going to be a killer for us. They're just two examples. We develop them, then tey go and become starts at their new team. Now that there are New South Welshmen in Victoria, maybe we can exploit this to our advantage. McVeigh, Hayes and Playfair are examples....

Nick is a class act - he likes being in Sydney and we love having him. And Brisbane will win next week anyway.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I just wish he would demonstrate his class on the field. Check out some of the other boards, they are saying that he just not has developed into the player he was meant to. He needs to develop a work ethic. I like players who really put in in case you haven't noticed. I hate players who just take the money but don't give it their all. This gets back to character. Cresswell and Kelly types have it in bucketloads, so does Voss, so do Hird and Buckley. This is the area where we have all questioned Davis and he lacks character and you can't give a person character it is in their makeup. I think we could improve Fosdike's kicking more than we can change a personality or someone's application. Trust me on this. Don't have any faith in Davis I saw him grow up. I will be vindicated. I am not stirring the pot I just want us to succeed.

So by that logic you must have sympathised with Nathan Buckley when Brisbane won last year?

Omni....At the end of the day, If he didn't have any "character", he'd still be at Collingwood ...And if he wasn't playing up to what people who matter thought, he wouldn't be playing at all . Nicks smarter than you think he is, and only worries about what the people who pay him the money think ... and they're all pretty pleased .

I don't care if you were present at his birth .Character in general is a pretty personal thing to be attacking, especially if you don't really know the persons circumstances . If you know as much about him as you say you do, then you'd know the reason why he was a loner as a kid, as you mentioned in another thread . Obviously you don't know anything other than to spew out something as clich?d as he likes his high horse, or he should apply himself more .

Mick Malthouse thought he was good enough to play in a Grand Final, what a mug he must be eh ... Maybe someone from out Sylvania way , back about ten years ago, should dash down to Melbourne and help him select players for Collingwood . Mick Malthouse also went to great lengths to ensure Nick remained a Magpie, and I mean great lengths, I wonder why he'd do that ? In hindsight maybe he could've saved himself a lot of trouble, spent 40 cents on a phone call, and just called you to set him straight. Despite all the posts on other boards, doubting and badmouthing Nick, Paul Roos also thought he was good enough to play, and in a final series . Nick did nothing wrong last night, and as much as it may surprise you, he didn't turn it up either . Lee Mathews played one of the best defenders in the business on him last night . So obviously Lee's a mug too, for thinking Nick was a danger . So there you have it, next weeks grand final teams are really being coached by a pair of morons, who wouldn't know a footballer if they fell over one .
Sit down or i swear to God i'll have you shot.
