For anyone with lingering regrets on Akermanis

"Brisbane Lions' outspoken Brownlow medallist Jason Akermanis caused another disturbance yesterday by revealing that he had deliberately circulated the story of a move to Sydney next year because he felt unappreciated and underpaid by the Lions.

    ...

"Akermanis, who is excited to be approaching this year's grand final at the height of fitness after playing with a seriously injured groin last season, said he was one of the few Lions to secure a pay rise this year, "and I think I've earned it".

what a selfish tool, he thinks he's bigger than the game itself.

I think a lot of us guessed that is what he was playing at. Although a great player , he is certainly a disruptive influence. We do not need that.

Not to mention his moronic and self-serving comments about Crouch (which he repeated AGAIN on the Fat last night)

Damn it - I was sitting directly above the Brisbane players race, I was so close that I could have poked Ackers in the head with an Umbrella - I blew my chance to deflate that over sized ego!.
Although Aussie Ange, Tammy & I (aka "the unholy Trinity) did notice his hair dye job and commented accordingly!
          ITS A GIRL THING!!!

In all seriousness though, Ackers, whilst there is no doubt that he is a very talented player, he tends to lose the plot a little too quickly, especially when he is being tagged and pretty much taken out of the game, he's too much of an individual and really wouldnt fit the team mould that Roosy has developed this year.

He doesnt mind giving his current team members a right "spray" should things not go his way, and Roosy certainly wouldnt put up with that kind of attitude or behaviour. So I for one am quite pleased that he's staying at the Lions. alas another day..............

Well I really must get some work done today!

          cheers everyone!
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

The only loser here is Brisbane. They have to put up with him for the next few years.

Hopefully it all goes pear shape for aker on Sat.

              Indeed Diego,

But gee I hope they thrash the pies on Saturday even with
              the bottle blonde!

Suggest you have a look at the Herald Sun Website under the
feed back section - there was a person rubbishing you and your mates when you were flashed on the Teve, suggest you have the right of reply - this bloke clearly isnt a passionate enough suppporter!

Aker played a strange game on the weekend, I thought. There were times when he was a good contributor for Brisbane but there were others when he was playing in defence on either Ablett or Schneider. Ablett was his opponent when he took his mark on a lead, with Aker way behind him. And Schneider marked from behind Aker without having to lift his feet off the ground and then was able to play on and pass to Willo who scored.

Where abouts? I have been looking and found nothing. Was it in print as well?

I have a hunch who it was..first letter starts with M and last letter is G with the letter GRE in between. I am 100% sure it was him.

The guy is obsessed with me and the swans and he is a Collingwood supporter.

                      From: Martin
Comment: Supporter Abuse - In Your Feedback from September 18th, Dez from Sydney says about verbal abuse "...the type behaviour, language and comments are not tolerated at Sydney games...many families have "migrated" to the AFL for its family friendly atmosphere." I gather you are rightly embarrassed by the Sydney supporters around 5 minutes into the 3rd quarter absolutely threatening an umpire or player. Lip reading clearly shows a fan saying "You're gone...I'm going to get you" in a frothing at the mouth display. Channel 10 kept the cameras on these morons for a while, and it is probably the most disgusting display of abuse I have ever seen. I hope the Sydney Swans take note and do something about it such as banning them from owning memberships as it was very ugly. On the same note, I was an impartial observer at the Collingwood-Port game, and I have never heard the 'c' word used as often in everyday conversation as was coming from the AFL Members Reserve from the Collingwood supporters. It's about time the AFL do something as people will stop bringing their kids to the game because of these feral idiots. If you want details, Section M25, rows V and W would be a start...
Poor didums. I wonder how MArtin feels when a swear word is used on TV. Does he reach for the rosary beads to say 10 hail marys?

ok - go to www.hwt.com.au (you already knew that didint you?)
click on football (column on left hand side)
it will get to the footy page, scroll down a bit and you will see a blue line "your views in feedback" click on that
and I think its under the feedback for yesterday - scrolldown a bit
but he was talking about the Swans supporter who complained about the language used by Collingwood supporters etc.
Cant actually recall who the writer was though.

If you want an even better laugh, and I know it goes against everything that is good in the world, go to the Collingwood website - I saw the itinery for the supporters end of seasons trip to the Uk & France - I really cant see the die hard pies supporter really being able to appreciate a fine food and wine region such as Provence! call me a snob - OK SNOB! but you have to agree its a vast difference to a VB & a Four & Twenty!

anyway let me know what you think!

I think the point (which he didn't state too well) was about being a family friendly atmopshere. He probably doesn't have to worry about too much swearing on Hi-5.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

You know what I am sick to death of people thinking the footy is a place where the whole family can sit down to a picnic and watch a game of footy. I am sick of people thinking that swearing doesn't happen at the footy. These same people who whinge about the rudeness in the crowds prob have children who learn more words in the playground and after school than at the footy.

I am sick to death of all the double standards in our Society. People complain about supporters being passionate but put up with violence and swearing on the box.

Yeah I felt bad on Sat night b/c there was a few kids in front of me who turned around and looked at me when I was going off..but heck what can I do..its the last bastion I have where I can let my passion get the better of me. There should be "Family Only Zones" at the footy.
