    Media trade speculation

The trade period can be harrowing with speculation for everyone outside of Melb will try and keep an update.

Ch 10 Melb confirmed that Richmond are chasing Jacobs, Soloman and McVeigh from S&Don - having crises talks with Richo

Definitely should pick up Ben Holland in the draft, if at all possible. Have they delisted him or are they going to try and hawk him off?

They have told him that he will be up for trade. That he should seek a longer contract with somebody else.I got the impression when i heard it that if no trade is done,he may well be gone anyway.

Would be a great pick up.You reckon they will take a 2nd rd pick plus Nicks,Seymour or Stevens?

Holland is still under contract for 2004 - after turning down that offer from Adelaide at the 11th hour 2 years ago he'd be on big money at Richmond - not even an option to delist him.

It would seem that offloading Holland is a key part of the plan to fit Brown and Solomon into their cap.

This article best describes exactly what has been said to Holland

he is on big money, we would have to take over his contract. Doubt any other club would take crap like Seymour, Nicks or Stevens, we have to be realistic. Last year we had a player fall into our lap but this year we will actually have to do some work.

I see C/wood have offered up McGoof - can't see many takers

How about Matthew Bode from the Crows? Apparently he wants out of Adelaide because of their strong depth of in and under players. We do need a replacement for Cressa and Bode seems to fit the bill. Tough and very good at clearences, has been pretty good against us in recent times and has killed us in clearences.

Also to help out with out Ruck stocks, Dean Cox (West Coast)would be our best bet. Bad thing is with so many sides with Ruck deficiencies (Pies and Bombers especially), his price could be a bit high.

So therefore my hopeful targets in trade week (in order) are:

                    1.Bode (maybe 2nd/3rd round)
                    2.Cox (2nd round and Stevens?)
                    3.Jacobs (2nd Round)

what are everyone's thoughts on quinten lynch from the weagles?

seems to have fallen out of favour, big body, still young and has played as a key position backman. wouldn't give up a first round pick but might be worth risking 2nd rounder?

                      ABOUT
Tall and muscular key forward who emerged from the rookie list mid-season and adapted superbly to the rigours of AFL football. Posted a goal with his first kick against Carlton in round 12 and followed up with bags of five goals against Adelaide in round 13 and Melbourne in round 19. Lost his spot in round 22 but was recalled for the finals.

2nd round pick for Jacobs!!! the coaching panel would have to be inebriated to accept such an offer. He might not be a tall KPP but he's one of the best mid-sized defenders going around, clean disposal and very good mark. First round pick would be a must.

In any case he will be playing in yell and black next year in a multi club/player deal.

Bode and Lynch would be pretty good to secure I would think.

I would assume that the swans want to keep their 1st round pick for a in and under type (Brock Mclean anyone???) , so yeah maybe i was underrating Jacob's value a bit. I don't think we have alot to offer this off season apart from draft picks.

Maybe 2nd Round and Nicks would appetise our Bomber friends

WTF would we want Jacobs for?

Who would he replace in our backline?
