Originally posted by Reggi WTF would we want Jacobs for?
Who would he replace in our backline?
Have to agree with Reggi here. Jacobs is a quality player but we already have a decent number of not-quite-tall-enough-to-be-true KP, slightly built, athletic defenders.
Originally posted by Will Sangster what are everyone's thoughts on quinten lynch from the weagles?
seems to have fallen out of favour, big body, still young and has played as a key position backman. wouldn't give up a first round pick but might be worth risking 2nd rounder?
ABOUT
Tall and muscular key forward who emerged from the rookie list mid-season and adapted superbly to the rigours of AFL football. Posted a goal with his first kick against Carlton in round 12 and followed up with bags of five goals against Adelaide in round 13 and Melbourne in round 19. Lost his spot in round 22 but was recalled for the finals.
Missed begining of WAFL season with injury, Is a top WAFL player have seen him first hand a number of times could be worth a shot but mobility at AFL level a real issue.

I agree too, you only have to look at his game against us this year to see that him as a CHB isn't that great an idea. Hall towelled him up
It's that thing about AFL footy really isn't it - you actually need to be capable of movement to play it
You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

That description relates to 2002 doesn't it? Didn't think he got an AFL game in 2003.
The Weagles were screaming out all year for someone who could provide a big strong marking target for them up forward. They might have been a real contender this year had they had one. So the fact that Lynch - who could have fulfilled that role - was languishing in the WAFL all year suggests he's not that good a player.

So? That's not old!

Mate, you seem to know an aweful lot about an aweful lot of things. Never have a comment, but always a statement about what will happen in all things AFL (and probably everything else in life too, if we were so inclined to ask). What's your secret? Tea-leaves? Crystal Balls? Or maybe...
Geez, it really interests me why you hang around here so much. No red & black friends to play with, huh?

Yeah, sorry, i suppose. Just annoys me the way he states things as foregone conclusions as if us bandwagoners wouldn't know one end of a football to another. I like getting different views from opposition fans, but it can still irritate me at the same time. And anyway, you should have seen what I didn't write! I was in a really bad mood when I wrote that!

No chance, would love to get him, but no chance. He is a star and I personally think he will go top 3. Then again we got Goodes at 43, so anything is possible.
Firstly Ben Holland is to old at what ... 27?I believe Dean Cox might be a great pick up if possible maybe for MiekleJohn and Seymour/Warfe he would be a great backup to Goodsey and Ball if either get injured, LRT could play CHB and maybe even trade Doyle if Cox comes on board. What do you reckon?

Holland could be a good pick up, from the sound of thing Richmond wouldn't be after much for him, just to get rid of his contract to allow the players they want to fit under their already too tight cap.
Alot of clubs will go after Cox if he is indeed available and I very much doubt MJ and Seymour/Warfe would be enough to get him, in fact there is no hope. WCE aren't going to give up a decent ruckman, for a No4 ruckman and 2 old useless defenders. LRT to play CHB would mean he would have to bulk up, he will over summer, but will he do enough??? I don't know. If we got Cox I doubt he'll be happy as back up for Goodes and Ball, maybe it could mean moving Goodes into the Ruck-rover position.
Trading Doyle???? I don't know, if the trade was right then maybe. But this kid has talent and will be hopefully around for years to come after Ball retires in the next 2 seasons. As he plays exactly like Ball I would keep him, no matter what. If he can stay clear of injuries he will become a very good player for us.
Saying that to get Holland maybe offer our 2nd Round Pick and to get Cox maybe trade Stevens for him.
