From the AFL Site - "Sydney coach Paul Roos declared his interest in Brisbane defender Tim Notting, who may be a victim of that club?s salary cap restrictions. However Roos downplayed his club?s interest in Essendon?s wingman Mark McVeigh, who is from Sydney"

Love the games at this time of year.
Remember Roos only had a passing interest in Davis too lol
Any player who WANTS to come to Sydney is always gonna have understated interest from the club. The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success. -

I'd rather have Michael in the Sunday Age it was reported that he might have to leave the Lions cause of their Cap.
Out of our reach I would think.
Botting would be alright.Comment

I would love to get Mal. Does anyone know who our main competitors for Mal would be (excluding Brisbane) should he come on the market?Comment

Its 2:00pm Monday. Four days to go and this stupid time of year will all be over.
One rule applies throughout this whole week.
To get anything good, you gotta give up something good.
So if you want Mal Michael, who are you prepared to give up on our list for him, or alternatively what pick are you prepared to give up to get him?
Remember, Barry Hall cost us a first round draft pick and Greg Stafford. Michael will cost us something similar, if we are even remotely interested and if he becomes available.Comment

I would put my money on him changing clubs though the draft if he was to leave Brisbane, but I think a deal will be done.Once was, now elsewhereComment

Melbourne's fans are willing to sacrifice the 5th pick for Mal Michael. If there is a trade, Brisbane would go for that offer unless we could offer something better. Unless we part with something significant, like Kennelly, I dont think we could give Brisbane anything equal to that offer (Nicks + Warfe+ Seymour < 34th pick for the god's sake).
Melbourne would be quite easily accomodate Mal Michael's salary under their cap too.
We must understand that we are not in a STRONG position to trade for Mal Michael, both in term of what we have to offer and in term of the supply and demand in the market.
Let us be a bit realistic.Comment

When I first heard this news my first thought was 'lets trade Seymour,Warfe, Nicks and all our picks above 48 to Brisbane as we arent using them.
Then I came back to earth and realised these players and picks arent going to be wanted by the lions.
I dont think we have anything is enough for Brisbane at the moment it would have to be one of the first few picks.Comment
