I don't think Mal Michael's trade worth will be tested. All the conjecture about his future is just media speculation.

Neither Michael nor his agent seems to have made any public statement about wanting to move, and the Lions have said that he will sign a new contract and they are not even interested in listening to any offers.

As far as I can tell, this whole debate came from a Sunday Age reporter playing "what if" with the Lions' list of uncontracted players, not from any hard facts.

In the Herald son today it said that you cannot trade a player simply for draft picks. Each club involved must trade a player.

You can only trade 5 players

Either the rules have changed or the HS has pulled that one out of its nether regions.

Plenty of examples of player/pick trades -
Davis, Woewodin, Blumfield are three from last year off the top of my head.

Ah no

The rule is that you can't trade just draft picks between clubs, 1 player at least must be involved in a deal, not 1 player from each club.
