Read that article this morning and felt sorry for him, but he would just be taking up good list room.
We are down in the gutter a bit talking about these discards. I think Mal Michael is the best available for us at the moment.
I think we have to consider an early pick for him too. Brisbane want young men who won't demand as much income over the next 3 seasons.

Ironic Betheras is hard at it and didn't make GF side where they showed no ticker! If he was younger, I was surprised to see he is 27, I would've had a stab at him for nothing!Sports do not build character. They reveal it....Heywood Broun

Betheras, Beaumont, Moorcroft, Richardson? What's with all these suggestions of picking up washed up hacks? Stick with playing the kids Roosy.Comment

Anyone called Rupert is trouble. It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play violin. That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.

General consesus on this board is that a KP backman or as close to and a in and under midfielder.
You may consider some of these players washed up hacks but they all have played football at the highest level and have shown they can play consistent football.
If the the price is right why wouldn't someone like Beaumont add to our side right now and give us that extra KP backman we are looking for.

Beaumont is NOT a KPP. He does play on taller opponents but we already have C.Bolton in that role.Comment

What if C Bolton is released to the midfield and becomes that in and under midfielder we are looking for.
What if he could go forward and become that forward who works hard to keep the ball in when it hits the ground allowing O'Keefe to venture further up the field and display his natural talents.
Having a team that is flexibale allows you to try different things that may be the difference between finishing third and first. Beaumont is a ready made player that can play tall and down back which would give us some of that flexibility.
I often think people on this board are to one dimensional, if it works stick with it. Thankfully Roos seems to be a coach who is prepared to think outside the square and try different things to try and improve the side.
Every other team next year will be trying different things against us and they have now had a year to work out the Roos games plan and style. We need to keep moving and experimenting to stay ahead of the pack.

Bring Powell or Hunt into the side, or chuck Stevens back there if he's still around. I'd rather play a youngster than have some discard from another club blocking his development.Comment

I must admit i do feel really sorry for him. He always gave 110% . Not his fault, he just fell out of favour, which can happen very easily at Collingwood . Many teams could pick up much worse than him in my opinion. Upside is, he wouldn't cost a fortune .Sit down or i swear to God i'll have you shot.Comment

I'm not saying each club should fall over themselves to get " washed up hacks " , but i am saying that sometimes some of the players who are delsited, are actually capable of taking a wealth of knowledge with them to a NEW club, and they usually come at a bargain price.Sit down or i swear to God i'll have you shot.Comment
