Anyone know what the timing is. I thought they were normally out by this time of the year, with the deadline for guaranteed access to existing seat in mid Nov. Anyone heard anything?

Last years (sydney) memberships were very late because of the reconfiguration of Stad Aus. In the end they had to allocate seats without access to the ground because it was finished after the original schedule.
From memory of previous years due any day now !!!!Comment

Late January would be my preferred option. At present it clashes with car rego, and I've just been hit with a red light camera fine. $224 - ouch! And seriously , who can ever put money aside in December.................It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play violin. That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.

Gotta say that last years "get your membership renewed quick smart" was a bit over the top - we were getting emails every few days and we (the people in this office who are members) were none too pleased about the pressure being applied and the previous comment was right - Nov & Dec are particularly tight months as far as the dollars go!
So one of the chaps sent them back an email , if you keep hassling me, you will lose me! it seemed to work and he renewed in January.I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

I dont think the pressure will be as great this year because I am hoping a few bandwagoners were converted.
They were very gererous last year basically saying, if you can't pay all now, pay some and we'll put you on a payment plan...desperate sounding stuff.
Does anyone know if you can sign non-attending members up for a nominal sum? My daughter is a month old and she is keen for a 2004 membership so that she can say she has been a member for every season of her life. The Pain of Discipline is Nothing Like The Pain of DisappointmentComment

I heard - straight from the horse's mouth, ie the Paul, the membership manager - that they were probably going to introduce payment plans this year. However, I'm not sure if that was for all packages or just for the more expensive ones, like the Redback package.
The urgency for renewal only applies to people with a reserved seat and I can understand them needing commitment at an earlyish date for these so they can sell those not renewed.Comment

My family membership option wasn't free for the kids. We paid for the adult seats and the first child is $$X (I can't remember the amount) and then each one after that is at a cheaper rate. That however does include a reserved seat.
It may differ from Sydney to Melbourne based members.
That would be very cool Hoodsy if you could do that for your bub. Here's my heart and you can break it

I seem to remember them appearing around late oct last year?
Obviously the club had a couple of bonus weeks then, with us not participating in the finals..
I like to bite the bullet and pay for them straight away - just the knowledge that I don't have to bother getting tickets the next year is sufficient, although the credit card NEVER likes getting slugged for $600+ in one hit!

Interestingly, the official site now has a section where you can presumably renew your membership online - I still haven't received anything in snail-mail yet.

Edit: My renewal arrived today and once I actually got a closer look, it's actually $2 cheaper instead of the $40 more expensive that I originaly thought! Hooray! That makes my swans membership for a year as cheap as my Robbie Williams ticket for one dayComment

I got mine today. Now hopefully the Swans will make the grand final to justify me paying the extra $75 that I just forked out for a guaranteed grand final ticket.

The inclusion of the "Premiership Club" package is an interesting one. All in all I think it's a very smart move for the club - They get $300,000 extra for practically no extra effort (apart from the 4000 scarves!). The only "pay-out" time is when the club is into a grand final, in which case they dont' pay any extra anyway.
Those who choose to pay extra to guarantee a grand final ticket will benefit when we make it, the club gets extra money, the Sydneysider members get a benefit too (they now get guaranteed GF tix too, as a result of the new member category created).
The only problem is that it makes it harder for the rank and file members to get a GF ticket - after you take out the 4000 Premiership Club members and the Redbacks/Sydneysiders, you won't be left with much more than about 5000ish tickets to divide up amongst the rest.
* For those who haven't received their information yet, the Premiership Club is a new member category for those with reserved concourse or stand seats, or members reserve seats. For about $75 extra, you get a guaranteed chance to buy a GF ticket, plus a scarf.
