Maybe the Swans did but Richmond wouldn't accept it. After all, they had Hall bundled up in a deal that would have sent him down to Geelong, and when Hall declined to participate he was substituted with the no 19 or 20 pick. That suggests Richmond thought his trade worth to be more like a low first/high second round pick than a late third round pick.

Yeah, you can't go accepting next to nothing for a player who is rated.

Better to let him nominate for the draft.

I man if Saddo wanted to go, and the best we were offered was a 3rd round pick for him, I'd say let him go and make whichever club wanted him hope and pray they get him in the draft.

Likewise with the way the Swans acted.
IF we are interested in him, I doubt that the selection comittee will lose any sleep should we not get him.
Otherwise we would have picked him up, or tried harded to trade for him.

I think the club didn't want to part with anyone who Richmond would deem an acceptable trade, so they decided to wait and see if they could snag him in the draft...

Tall = value in most clubs eyes, especially sellers, they would certainly have 'expected' more than a third round cos' he is 195cm or so! And many clubs lack talls anyway.. geelong melbne dogs etc

Ah... very true. Come to think, so is one of Geelong's third round picks.

in that case, I take it back. He would have a higher chance coming to Sydney via the ND.
