I had him going to Adelaide in the 30's so, I'm a bit shocked with it but he does seem OK
Willoughby is the best available local in the position and as Adelaide will likely take talls for the rest of the draft, I don?t think they will pass him up. Also adds a bit of grunt to a midfield that could do with some. Small, inside forward/midfielder. Smart reader of the play up forward and excellent goal sense. Clean hands and good mark for his size.Once was, now elsewhereComment

Just making this the official thread, guys
177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

From afl.com.au
Josh Willoughby
(Glenelg) 11 January 1986, 175.6cm, 70kg
Willoughby is a classy inside forward/midfielder who is dynamic around goal and a smart reader of play. He is a highly rated small man, who was a joint winner of the Kevin Sheehan Medal for the best player in the National AFL under 16 championships in 2002. An AIS/AFL academy member and All-Australian in this year?s National AFL under 18 championships, Willoughby has attracted plenty of interest from the Tigers, while both Port Adelaide and Adelaide will certainly be monitoring his whereabouts during the selection process. He has been rated a top 10 pick on pure football ability by some, but is likely to be a second round or early third round selection.

29 - Tim Schmidt (West Adelaide)
Yet another local and midfielder. I believe he is a steal at 34, other wouldn?t agree with me, but Port have themselves a fine player here. He has a good ability to get a kick away, even when under heavy pressure. His kicking is very good. Has a good football brain for the AFL.
Why not Gayfer or JohnsonOnce was, now elsewhereComment

afl.com.au actually had Schmidt coming to us in a later round!!
Sydney ? Tim Schmidt
(West Adelaide) 14 March 1986, 178cm, 79kg
A talented midfielder who shone in 2002 at the National AFL under 16 championships ? winning the Kevin Sheehan Medal for the best player of the under 16 carnival ? yet he had an injury interrupted year in 2003. Schmidt was a member of the AIS/AFL academy this year, while he also represented South Australia in the National AFL under championships. He is reportedly attracting keen interest from both Port Adelaide and Sydney, with the Swans right in the mix.

Well so far 2 inside midfielders and 2 good ones at that, so I'm not complaining and there is a good chance Gayfer and Johnson will fall to our next pick with the amount of Father/Son picks coming up. Looking like a good draft so far.Once was, now elsewhereComment

It was said that after the top 10 it was going to be very difficult to predict where players went, with such evenness and that is happening. A few players were predicted to go early who are still there (end of second round) like Jacob Surjan, Ricky Dyson, Callum Burges, Hall (the WA ruckman), GayferComment

Willoughby is pretty much another Schneider - quick and highly skilled, although his lack of height is the major concern.
Hopefully like Schnieder he wil grow a couple more cms in the next year or so.
Schmidt is bottom-age and had some injury problems - the theory seemingly that we've got him at a discounted rate like a Powell.Comment

No doubt what we're looking for in this draft.
I remember a couple years back where all we took with our first 3 picks were 190cm+ skinny rakes!
