Doesn't look at all impressive to me from what the previews suggested, but I suppose the Sydney draft people know what they're doing. I don't mind having another ruckman considering how injury-prone Ball and Doyle are, and especially considering that Meiklejohn looked well below par last season.

Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.Comment

Monty's back. This makes me happyOther than that, I have heard of none of the draftees, but we seem to like taking boys from SA.

Not fazed by the lack of KPP defenders picked, every chance LRT will make the transition back there and James or Dempster will step up.Comment

I think it's a good long term call on the ruckman, there's a chance 2004 could be Ball's last year. And Goodes although he's a freak he'll be better suited to the side not clashing with giants in the knockouts every week.

Overall I'm happy with our first 2 picks and its good to see Amon back on the list, but the order of our late pick surprised me and Matthew Davis, where the hell does he playOnce was, now elsewhereComment

At least we got a few inside midfieldersOnce was, now elsewhereComment

Another consideration with having so many ruckmen - so long as they are competent - is that there always seem to be clubs desperate for one. So if more develop into decent players than you expect you at least have a potentially valuable trade commodity on the list.Comment

Maybe the belief is that in a years time we'll be better placed to judge how LRT, Powell, James and Dempster will be down back and weather we could get a top liner from another club or get one from the draft if needed. Still this Davis could be a defender so we'll wait and see.
We shouldn't overlook the fact we got what we wanted with the first 2 picksOnce was, now elsewhereComment
