Just cause you've seen them (the potter boys) play, doesnt make you their best friend. Thats the same with the Swans. Just cause you spoke to them once doesnt make you their friend. More like a groupie.....

Come on guys, you've had your fun - point made . Leave her alone.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

I'm not sure how many years it is, but there is the 'loophole' that we have used to take Heath James and Gerrard Bennett as 'priority rookies'.

I thought the rule was that we were able to recruit guys as priority rookies who had, for the previous 2 or 3 years, lived in and/or played in Sydney.

It was set up to limit our priority rookies access to those who were legitimate locals, however guys like James and Bennett were obviously not, hence the 'loophole'

So if the club felt that McGlone didn't deserve a spot on the senior list, but wouldn't be taken in the ND, they could delist him in the knowledge that they could re-draft him onto the RL without any other clubs having the chance of taking him as a rookie.

That of course is if the rule is 2 years and not 3 - maybe it is 3.

IIRC we used that "loophole" on Bennett but not James. James was actually our first "legitimate pick" in last year's rookie draft. The three concessions we took were Crawford, MJ and Bevan.

Yes but the kid has definatley showen somthing in the reserves, and that is about all you can ask of a kid in that situation. For Example he showed a fair bit more last year during game time, than did Mcveigh !

                            Was McGlone actually delisted?

If you check out the Swans site he is still on the rookie list with Bevan and Crawford. Players we definately no longer have, have been removed ie; Creswell, Seymour and Stevens. The players elevated to the senior list have been taken from the rookie list (James and Meiklejohn) and are now resting with the other senior players.

Is anyone actually certain he and Ryan Crawford were delisted to start with?

                              Bams,

This the official Swans list after the National Draft and is consistent to previous lists issued to the AFL. No mention of Crawford or McGlone, but this doesn't mean they can't be included again.

thanks RB. I've seen these lists. And that's what's causing the confusion.

Can you explain to me if they were delisted, then how can they be added again. Don't the have to be picked up in the ND, PSD or RD?
