Robbie, you have highlighted what we already knew. We have a glaring weakness in the tall back area, that is why Kennelly and LRT will probably play back there.

We got away with it in 2003, but you can bet the swings and roundabout (as Rex says) that the opposition will be already looking at exploiting this. Hey it might not work out to be a weakness, but boy it certainly sticks out like a sore thumb.

      Thanks everyone for their support.

Look I drew that up during the season and since then have changed positions very offen, due to players form, position changes and the ins and outs. When I first posted it on here, it was far from 100% and as everyone has posted their views I have changed to reflect these comments and views. Yes most people won't have the same players in the same positions that I have them in but, I think I have it as close as possible to perfect as I feel I can get it.

I hope to keep this up for the new season and I hope that each week I can update it (hint hint Des), I got the idea from a Mariners baseball blog that I read, that places each player within their major and minor league systems, into a position and level.

Here is the link to it for those who want to have a look Depth Chart

Clearly doing one for the Swans is completly different, but I see some value to them, despite what Hasbeen_13 has to say.

Also remember this is my view of the list not anyone elses, so if you don't like my opinion then post your own below.

        Tall Forwards
        1. Barry Hall
        2. Michael O'Loughlin
Not sure if O'Loughlin should be this high in the tall forward category. I don't think he plays the tall forward spot particularly well.

        Ruckman
        1. Adam Goodes
        2. Jason Ball
I wonder whether Ball should be considered our No 1 ruckman?

        Inside Midfielders
        1. Jude Bolton
        2. Brett Kirk
        3. Paul Williams
        4. Jared Crouch
        5. Ben Mathews
        6. Adam Schnieder
        Schneider!
        7. Ben Fixter
        8. Luke Ablett
        9. Craig Bolton
Not sure if either of the above two would be inside midfielders. Also, Fixter has mainly played in the back line? Would be interesting to see what he did up the ground.
        10. Josh Willoughby
        11. Tim Schmidt
        12. Scott McGlone*
        13. Nick Potter*
How do you define "inside midfielder?" Just wondering because Fosdike was No 4 in our round-the-ground clearances but doesn't feature here. Similarly Maxfield, who is No 4 in total.

        Medium/Small Defenders
        1. Leo Barry
        2. Craig Bolton
        3. Tadhg Kennelly
        4. Ben Fixter
        5. Jared Crouch
        6. Matthew Nicks
        7. Rowan Warfe

        Tall Defenders
        1. Andrew Schauble
        2. Jason Saddington
        3. Lewis Roberts-Thomson
        4. Heath James
        5. Mark Powell
        6. Daniel Hunt*
        7. Matthew Davis
        8. Luke Taylor*

        * - Rookie Listed [/B]
I'd be tempted to put Barry and Bolton in both medium and tall. They may not have a lot of height but they can play tall. I think Warfe is also a backup tall defender. Or perhaps there should be three categories of defender.
