You can buy a player for a bit over $80 these days - no excuse Jules

I bought the Port final tape and was disappointed that they stopped everything about 30seconds after the final siren. No interviews. And little of the emotion of a highly stirring day.
My homemade dvd has the whole lot (except the ads). I've just been watching this game again while I was stripping the ads out.

The one thing that really disappointed me was that the tape didn't have the team singing the song after the game - I've never seen or heard anything like it as an expression of passion for and commitment to the red and white.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

          Definitely too short.

Though it was great to re-live parts of the season, the Round 6 chapter against Collingwood had a couple of great passages of play. It was amazing to see several crucial goals this year scored through opportunism (and a bit of luck!) virtually on the goal line thanks to mainly O'Loughlin, Schneider, Davis brilliance in front of goal.

I did enjoy the highlights that WERE included, I would have liked to see a bit from the losing games like the 2 second-half comebacks against Adelaide. Roosy's comments weren't all that insightful though.

I got a good dvd for christmas. Box set containing sensational seventies, ? eighties and 90's: the year that was.
Watched the 90's so far and was very well done, went for over 3 hours covering each season and has the ladder from each season too. Also had a quick view at the 70's which was made in 70's and it shows but if you were old enough to watch footy then, then you will enjoy it. However i did enjoy it, just not nerely as much as 90's

My son gave me the DVD for Christmas - had lots of trouble purchasing it - I loved it as it is well presented - highlight wise and I appreciated Roos comments on the various players and aspects - He is very spot on and easy to listen to.

So I enjoyed this present - full screen on ours. Some fabulous highlights - the only thing that showed up as bad was the commentators - some hopeless - the guy from fox footy.
              Love those Swans

I got the Swans/Port Final on DVD for Christmas and I must say that its a real dissapointment. The Quailty is shocking and the editing is really poor. At least I have a copy of the match now.

I got the Season Highlights DVD and the DVD of the Port Adelaide finals win as Xmas presents. Two points Id say about these DVDS:
                  1. The Season higlights DVD IS a bit on the short side and I agree that for a Swannies fan it lacks a certain involvement and excitement even. For instance, Cheer Cheer seems a very insipid version when sung at the beginning titles...But as a present, I can't complain, and it's better than having NO highlights. It was great seeing again and having 4 always Nick's goal from alongside the centre square, his Beckham-style shot from mid-air...and the Schneiredman's many inspiring goals. I thought more could have been made of him (it WAS his first full season) and Goodsie and Bazza...some stills would have been good, even the year's stats...a run down of the year's players even...some slo-mo...But the really good thing is just how often the man Cressa features in the highlights...I miss him so much already...

                  2. The Port game is great, cos it ranks up there alongside the efforts of Samwise Gamgee and Frodo Baggins in valour in overcoming what appears to be insurmountable odds... Oh yes, and it's great to hear Huddo saying "I can't believe it"...over and over and over...
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

I think my favourite part of that commentary is when he shrieks "I see it but I don't believe it" after Jude slots through that goal from close quarters.

Just beat me to it there...

I remember they all said "Unbelievable" umpteen times on the day. It just sums up how no-one believed they could win. At least they believed, and that's all that counted!

The DVD should have had Ten's "apology" to the Swans before the prelim on behalf of the AFL experts who tipped them for last.
It would have made the perfect intro. I still have that little snippet on tape.

It's great to have such a memorable season to look back on, isn't it?

My favourite part was when SOS says "oh my god" and the other two are quiet and in shock after Hall kicks the long goal to put us 7 goals in front!!

                        edit: fixed SOS's comment

Or SOS's "OH MY GOD" after Bazza slotted one from a tight angle to put us 7-8 goals ahead

Agree, that would have been great. But considering the DVD was basically made from a Channel 9 off shoot that was not likely to happen.

Is it just me or was the DVD highlights heavily weighted to Channel 9, with 10 thrown in when they had to. Nothing from the Foxtel games or other shows coverage?
