Hopefully we got out of it with minimal injuries, and that some of the guys got a bit of form back. Definitely looking forward to reports from those attending (and if any of them want to write a match report for RWO.... )
177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out.... Des' Weblog
Goodes, Williams and J Bolton were excellent (they probably don't need any more pre-season runs.
Aaron Rogers was quite impressive he and Sydney are unlucky he is not on the senior list. McVeigh was good.
Ablett and Buchanan were solid.
Meikeljohn battled away against Fraser, Cloke and McKee - C/wood should have dominated in that area.
Kirk hit some form.
I think Fixter may have been injured
These players played
Sydney: Barry Hall, Nick Davis, Jarrad McVeigh, Craig Bolton, , Ben Fixter, Paul Williams, Stuart Maxfield, Nic Fosdike, Tadgh Kennelly, Luke Ablett, Leo Barry, Jason Saddington, Jude Bolton, Sean Dempster, Jared Crouch, Mark Powell, Brett Kirk, Amon Buchanan, Daniel Hunt, Adam Goodes, Scott McGlone, Nick Malceski, Paul Bevan, James Meiklejohn, Matthew Davis, Aaron Rogers.
You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler
I don't think Hall was reported. It was a bit of an altercation with several players from both teams. Hall's kicking was not accurate. Goodes is all class and dominated. They tried much harder and adding a few seniors made a world of difference.
Fixter got injured again - he was on crutches with his thigh bandaged, I think it may have been a cork. Ablett may also have received some sort of minor injury. Saddington was the best he has been for ages. McVeigh and Rogers were also OK.
Collingwood looked pretty ordinary and the fans started leaving when it was obvious they couldn't win.
Great that we can go again next week to Optus to see them play the Roos.
