Seems that Roosey is trying to get a head start with the umpire pysching...
Hall, Roos and umpires

Overall you must protect them - you can almost do anything to Barry and not be penalised.
Must say though he does himself no favours by clearly appealing and playing for frees in contests, sticking the arms out etcYou don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler -

Lloyd is the biggest poser when it comes to free kicks, although I'm tipping that he'll wind up suspended over some heinous deed on the field.
Luke Darcy appears to be fairly untouchable in the maggot's eyes.
Baz often winds up with the raw deal where free kicks are concerned. If he continues to keep his cool though, as with last year, this mindset could change.Comment

Hall deserved more, says ump boss
11 March 2004 Herald Sun
Tim Morrissey
SEVERAL times last season Sydney coach Paul Roos complained that forward Barry Hall was getting stiffed by the umpires.
Strongman: Barry Hall gets physical.
Yesterday Roos was vindicated when AFL director of umpires Jeff Gieschen admitted Hall was given a raw deal in the free kick department.
Gieschen also conceded several umpires were "counselled and coached" after failing to award Hall obvious free kicks.
"In Barry's case, there certainly were occasions when he should have got free kicks," Gieschen said.
"That's disappointing from our perspective because we want to try and get it right."
Roos became so frustrated he went public, declaring: "Barry gets judged differently to probably 99 per cent of players in the AFL."
He also sent umpires coach Rowan Sawers a video tape highlighting several instances where he felt Hall should have been awarded free kicks.
Roos' belief was reinforced when Hall was reported for headbutting Carlton's Simon Beaumont in Round 16 last year, only to have the AFL Tribunal deliberate for 12 minutes before clearing him.
Hall worked hard last season to clean up his bad-boy image, the legacy of six suspensions for a total of 16 games from eight tribunal appearances.
Roos, however, believed there was a still a stigma attached to Hall, a view not shared by Gieschen.
But umpires guilty of not awarding free kicks to Hall were dealt with despite claims at the time the Swans leading goalkicker was treated justly.
"There's lot's of big strong players in every club," Gieschen said. "We can't penalise players for being big and strong and looking mean.
"Unfortunately, there are going to be mistakes but we've got to try and minimise that.
"Every game is reviewed very, very, closely and each umpire is assessed on his performance.
"Where players have had free kicks to them missed that umpire would've been counselled and coached through that situation so hopefully he wouldn't made that mistake again."
Since Roos went public on the issue, Gieschen has flown to Sydney several times to talk through the club's complaints.
"The most important thing is there's open communication," Gieschen said.
"It's now the umpires job just to watch (the Hall) situation and, if there's infringements or free kicks that occur that Barry should get, we expect the umpire to pay them."
Roos said he was pleased with the outcome of his talks with Gieschen.
"I think it's a credit to them they were actually prepared to say, 'we were wrong' in these cases and it's something we need to address," he said.

Also the article refers to how Lethal would be feeling the same about Lynchy...RUBBISH! Lynchy is the biggest poser going and a regular beguiler of Umps. Soon as he is wrestled out of the contest, he drops to the ground claiming he was thrown. The Pain of Discipline is Nothing Like The Pain of DisappointmentComment

Agree with the Hood again, lots of players are posers especially sickly Lloyd and Lynch so why there is no harm in appealing for it - the commentators have even said if they don't put their arms out they haven't a chance some playersLove those SwansComment
