    Love Children

Many in the past have nominated their love child pre-season, of course it is better to nominate an up and coming youngster yet to establish themself but not neccessary (and often implied that people will defend the love child against doubt and criticsim a al Gerard Healy and Barry Hall).

    Mine

Mark Powell - the 2nd coming of Adam Heuskes (without the off field stuff).

But I nominate him for full forward.

    Dr J sticking with Dempster?

You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

I nominate Nic Fosdike, to do this year, what Jooba did last.

I'm going to stick to my player of about 2 years ago - Monty. I've invested all this faith for so long, he's GOT to come good this year

Almost lost him between seasons though!

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

I think I've nominated Luke Ablett for the past two seasons and, like Des, I'm going to keep the faith. Hopefully third time lucky. He's on his last chance though!!

Paul Bevan or Aaron Rogers for mind - assuming they get promoted to the senior list, at some stage, of course.

I've never done this before, usually because I tend to know jack about a player until he has played a few senior games.

I am going to say that what I saw from Luke last year, he will be a star.
Can two pwople have the same love child?

              Oh well....
I'll take Aaron if they can't

Rogersy and Bevany are the two youngsters that have looked likely to me so far.

But the player I'll be watching with the most interest over the next few years will be Schmidty . . . .

I reckon he's the fat-arsed on-baller that Reggi's been waiting for, and on his junior form he might be anything . . . . up to and including Greg Williams' class.

I'll obviously nominate Pebbles to take the next step. And I'll suggest he'll become an important cog coming out of the midfield

I was impressed with Thewlis and McGlone last year but I think Rogers will be the next big find.

Is Saddingtony (I did the 'y' thing first damn-it) going cheap?

Umm... I'm already a fan of Malcesky so it's going to have to be him for the immediate future, and Davisy as a long-term investment.

Yeah, but it fits in nicely with the love-child theme, I think.

Hell... if its good enough for Roosy to be so original as to add a 'y' to every single name, it's good enough for us!

BTW - I have seen some big calls on this site, but Schmidt as good as Williams? Gutsy...

                          Not really . . . . who'll remember?

Mind you, if it happens, I might issue the odd reminder myself
