If there were any doubters of Nick Davis - they must have been dispelled tonight - only played 47mins which works out to a quarter and a half and yet had 4 goals and 9 possesions - in the form he was in it would not be unreasonable to suggest he would have gained 20+ possesions and at least 6 goals.
We would have won the game if he played throughout and Paul Roos acknowledges this fact more or less in different words.
His game tonight was on par for at least equal if not more devastating than Nathan Brown games on Friday night ( If you guys missed it he was pretty much BOG with 28 possesions and two goals and every possesion was effective).
Such a shame to see him get injured just when the real Nick Davis was about to shine.
If he makes this a consistent form in games we have ourselves a right footed version of Nathan Brown.
And for those C/wood haters - the kid they drafted with the pick played in the praccy match.
Looked on the duddish side - certainly nothing to get excited about (in fact their youngsters looked terrible)
He was playing the best I had seen him eva last nightYou don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby ZieglerComment

For the people who are saying he needs to back it up week after week to achieve the status I believe he can gain - I agree - I have said it all the way through my posts on Nick Davis if any of those comments were directed at me.No.1 ticket holder of Nick Davis Fan Club...Comment

Doesn't need to kick 4 goals every week - consistently get 15 - 20 possessions - coupla goals.
Be a consistent performer.
Completely forgotten by the Melb media - Aussie Jones plus all the radio persoanlities are having fun at Jason Ball's expense.
Should have definately kicked the goal apparentlyYou don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby ZieglerComment

I noticed the hun didn't even have Nick in their best for the Swans...I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment

I reckon the guy played great until he injured himself, and i hope its not a serious injury. He isnt a consistent performer but if the ball does land near him, i am really confident that he'll make something out of it.
He has great ball handling skills and will nail a goal with great accuracy. I think hes improved quite a bit since coming to sydney.Using hypothesis testing via confidence intervals:
Nick Davis mark inside 50 = goalComment

4 goals later they were in big trouble.
Nick going off the ground effectively reduced our avenues to goal because they flooded back in a big way.

Saw winderlich first hand on Sunday and dont know where you pulled that from ?
As far as forward use goes you will find Davis is as needed in the forward pocket as Brown is ie - Saturday night again for proof.
Body shapes almost identical.
Davis reads the ball as good as Brown - doesnt play in the midfield as much hence doesnt get the stats like Brown does.
If you watched the game on Saturday night you would have seen how quick Davis is - one of the fastest in the team - burnt away from Brissy players - oh and by the way brown errant kick for goal ? Cmon you think were gonna buy that ? Sure his conversion rate didnt set the world on fire but I would prefer him lining up for goal than most people. As Im sure if there was a poll in the AFL among players they would say the same thing.
So going buy your comparison really the only difference is Davis is a better shot for goal than Brown - So why isnt Davis rated ahead of Brown ??No.1 ticket holder of Nick Davis Fan Club...Comment
