    Has Saddo learnt a thing!

The guy has to have one of the worst football brains in our squad. He has not learnt a thing from past errors and continues to go the grab instead of punching and playing safe. The reason Micheal and Leppa are effective is cos they do not stuff around and clear the friggin thing ASAP.
What has this guy gained from the pre season??

    Patience.

    Have some.

The fact is, he was very, very good in his first 4-5 years of footy.

After one injury-riddled year and a couple of less that impressive games - all but one of which were in the pre-season - we seem ready to hang him.

His first 115 odd games demand that we have patience with him for a few more yet.
    We hate Anthony Rocca
    We hate Shannon Grant too
    We hate scumbag Gaspar
    But Leo WE LOVE YOU!

It's just extremely frustrating seeing a skillful player not do the simple, team orientated things. All footballers regardless of ability know that when you play in defense and are caught behind you punch the ball not try and mark it. I don't see how injuries cause him to mark instead of punch?? That excuse is wearing thin.

I think Saddo is an extremely talented player and easily demands a place in our best 22. I just wish he would pull his finger out and get back to footy basics rather than trying to be so flashy.

I liked a lot of what I saw of James at FB. Get Schuable back to CHB, and then Saddo can go on the flank......

.....where he would normally pick up the likes of Pyke. (and get slaughtered)

I was very disappointed in Jason's performance lasy night. I'm sure he was too. Hopefully Schauble can get fit and play the rest of the year. James wasn't too bad.

The problem with Saddo is that he is too easily out bumped by opposition forwards. He needs to put on 4-5 kg and get a lot more agressive at the ball. Last night he looked like a second rate player with Pike easiliy pushing him under the ball for marks. I reckon his only position is on the wing where he does not need to defend as much and can play as a receiver.

I dont think adding few more kilos to his frame would be the answer. His body structure would mean that he would never be able to win in a body-body contest. He seems to be a floater to me, who would be better suited to use his atheleticsm to win a contest. He got to learn how to use that effectively and/or we have to learn how to use him in the most effective way.

No thanks. Why would we, with Hall, O'Loughlin, Davis, O'Keefe and Ball/Doyle already down there as legitimate marking options?

Saddo belongs on a half-back flank or a wing.

If Davis does not play this week, I think the should give Saddo one last chance on the half forward line, and bring Rogers in on the half back line.

He's had his chances - and he continues to squander them. The fact that most posts re Saddo are looking for any type of positive when he plays sums it all up. He gets towelled week in, week out by opponents and consistently gives away goals. I'm sick of him - as soon as Kennelly and Schaubs are beack drop him to the Ressies.

Wow. I had no idea the sentiment against Saddo was so strong. Im not sure if people are even listening, but we are ONE (1) game into the season! Give the bloke a chance. We all know he had an injury riddled season last year, so why cant we give him a chance to get into this season? Fine, he might not be the CHB we have been hoping for ? I, for one, still hope he can be ? but lets at least give him a few games before we start baying for blood (no pun intended).
