    Possible INs & OUTs

I've been trying to get my head around all the injury news that is floating about. Here's my best summation as it relates to this weeks team:

    INs

    Stephen Doyle - Almost certain.
Has kicked 5 goals in his last two reserve matches and it is perceived that he will be required to bolster our ruck strength against Sandilands.

    Adam Schneider - Very Likely.
Supposedly he has recovered from his hamstring injury. Certainly in our best 18 and with Davis injured we're desperate for him. However, I don't believe he played reserves at the weekend so he hasn't played now since the Carlton game (?).

    Tadhg Kennelly - Possible.
It's unbelieveable to me that he could have recovered from surgery already, but there are whispers that he will play.

    Amon Buchanan - Possible.
Reported as BOG for the reserves on the weekend. If Schneider dosen't play (or is required in the midfield) he might get an opportunity, but you would think that one of the youngsters that played last week would retain their spot over Amon.

    Sundqvist - Unlikely.
Played well in the reserves last week and is always on the periphery of selection. However, McVeigh Bevan etal will get a game ahead of him.

    OUTs

    Nick Davis - Injured.
Bugger. Who knows when we'll see him again. I won't be holding my breathe.

    Lewis Roberts-Thomson - Very Unlikely.
With the likely inclusion of Doyle, against any other team he may have been a victim of team balance (given he really didn't do much last weekend, or ever [personal bias]). However, Fremantle are pretty tall team. Required.

    Paul Bevan - Possible
    Luke Ablett - Possible
    Mark Powell - Possible
Depending on inclusions the required demotions will come from this group. All did OK last week, but they are the most junior members of the squad. McVeigh will be given time.

I would say the only change will be:

In: Doyle (to obviously bolster ruck)
    Buchanan (to replace Davis)

    Out: Davis
    Powell (unlucky, but that's footy)

I reckon Schnider will have a game in the reserves to get some match fitness. I don't think Kennelly will re risked either.

To me this is Buchanan's prefect chance to show whether he has what it takes. If he can't get a start in a team depleted after injuries then there isn't much hope for him.

I don't really see why LRT will be dropped, even with the inclusion of Doyle.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Will be the only change IMO. Means we go in tall, but Doyle will be used off the bench.

The only other change I could see would be the inclusion of one of Schneider or Kennelly for Powell. They'd only risk one, and would add them for experience. There are probably a few too many youngsters in the team at the moment for my liking.

It would be very unlikely, like I said. Its just a point about team balance.
If we have Ball, Doyle and LRT in the team, it would want to be a dry day against another tall team, because none of them can play below their knees
IMO LRT is the lesser of those three players. In 17 games he's only touched the ball more than 10 times once. I just don't see what everyone goes on about. He's not the Messiah - at least not yet.

Most of our "permanent" forwards O'Keefe, Hall and O'loughlin are not abundant with pace at ground level. If Davis is out, we need Schneider. Without Schneider, we lack some ground pace in the forward line. If Schneider is not fit, then we must play Buchanan.Buchanan lack of pace would mean, that could be a weakness for us. With Micky dodgy knee, I am not wanting him to play as a ground-level anywhere.

This might be the good chance to start Doyle. Most of his injuries came from the play when he was playing "too short". Man him up again Sandilands would mean he will not need to play short to win the contest. But the picture of Doyle jumping into Sandilands scare the hell out of me .

If Doyle is to play, Powell is the obvious choice to make way.

Big doubts on whether Doyley has the durability to play in the ruck. I guess we'll see.

If pace is the worry, and Kennelly is fit, he will be straight back in there, playing on a wing or rotating with Bevan.

I would bring in Schneider. If he has recovered from his injury then I don't see the point of him playing in reserves. He is a forward pocket not a midfielder so he doesn't have to be superfit.
4 kicks 3 goals is a valuable contribution.

Me neither, I though one of the good things about the Brisbane game was seeing how much less "think time" he needed to dispose of the ball (especially by hand).
A big improvement on last year.
