partner can go into a hotel with thongs/flipflops and i cant..tell me why?
Had the same problem at the local sporto. I went in with a mate, was denied entry for wearing thongs i had on becase i had fielded all day at crickat, and the last thing you want to wear are shoes. I went in, the security told me to put shoes on, as he spoke three girls walked past in thongs, perfectly fine says the security. NOT HAPPY!!

Been that way for a loooooong time in the Membs. Reserve kids.

It's a bit stoooopid no doubt, they should police it for the Members Pav. only and let us pleb Swans Members in the Noble and others do what we like IMO.

Same applies south of the Border in the MCC reserve. Very strict on their rules, which includes a collared shirt. But in the middle of winter when I'm wearing 10 layers how will they know, I ask!!

Welcome to the land of the old fuddy duddies!

They have always had the rule, however this is the first time at the footy for about 10 years that they have actually policed it.

How strange - they only used to care about the actual members stand for that. The Ladies and MA Noble were exempt from those rules.

I think this is going way way to far. Hope you emailed the club.

The club sent out the email last week about the dress regulations, which I find odd that they are so concerned about collared shirts, when you see some of the get up that the young lads wear (you know the jeans that seem to have the crutch at their knees etc!) and they are allowed in.
Agree the same with singlets - a singlet is a singlet, whether its on a male or female. Never thought I'd say it but you boys do get a rough deal in that area.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

They do police it but often relatively irregularly. I know I've been caught particularly early in the season with sandals before because I had forgotten.
For the record I wore khaki shorts with steel capped workers boots and white socks on the weekend, oh, and a collared shirt and swannies scarf

Sounds like that should become the official SWANS fan uniform!!!

I was 'reminded' to wear a collared shirt once last year. Wore a long sleeved t-shirt on the weekend - no problems. There is a dress code for Members but not regularly enforced.

In the past 5 years of not wearing a collared shirt and sitting in the Noble stand I have never been asked to wear a one. I have always traditionally worn a t-shirt with my Swans jersey on top. Luckily I took a shirt as I read in the email that I would need one. I gaot asked at the gate if I had a shirt and put it on there. As soon as I was thru the gate I took the shirt off. Basically where your bags get checked (placing the shirt back in the bag at the same time) and noone said a thing. Stupid rule.

yes, I noticed that in the email from the Swans as well. I wear a swans team polo shirt to matches...it has a collar, but its just a Tshirt after all. The person in front of me in the queue at the ticket barrier was stopped and told to keep his jacket (a bulky waterproof affair) done up because of the "newly enforced rule". On the riduculous side though my wife, who was carrying the coffee was asked to undo the flask lid so they could check that it was hot...
Will they be sampling it next?
It is not a security measure as I or anyone else could have a bazooka up my jacket, it seems to bre a half-hearted effort to safeguard their alcohol sales. It fails, of course, because anyone could still be carring in booze in a hip flask etc...
I thought last year at Homebush the limit when a security guard checked a coke bottle to see that the cap hadnt been opened. He said that if the seal had been broken, hed have to have tested it for alcohol...
The morons are taking over the world...What with umbrellas banned at Canberra, coke at telstra, and coffee and collars at the scg...
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."
