What next? cutting up oranges to check that no vodka has been injected in them?

I have an even better one. At a cricket match a few years back, one of our gang had her sunscreen, I repeat SUNSCREEN, opened to see that there was nothing alcoholic inside. My friend was a 16 year old girl.

This was made all the more ridiculous by the fact that we used to throw flagpoles over the fence at every one dayer. They only caught us once.

They musn't be too great at checking. At last week's game the man in front of me in the Noble stand had a thermos full of red wine which actually was overfull and spilt all over the ground and seats. No-one said anything.

Getting off the track of collared shirts here, but a few years ago at a Bruce Springsteeen concert we had fruit juice taken off us incase it was injected with alcohol, but I heard one security person telling someone that all the juice would go to needy families!!!!!!!

In that list that the Swans sent out they also said tracksuit pants aren't suitable for Members Reserve.

Wtf am I suppose to wear in Winter at the night matches when it's like 10 degrees?

I didn't have a collared shirt on but I had collared Cardigan and managed to get away with that today

Off the topic a bit, at last years Brisbane final as I entered the ground I was asked unwrap my set of flags (I had 5 CS flags from Melbourne that I took across to Adelaide for the Port final) to check what was written on the banners. When I said they were just normal flags with nothing on them, she got her boss involved. 5 minutes later I got in without having to unwrap them.

the SCG Members Reserve area - which includes the Members stand , Ladies stand and M.A.Noble stand have always had dress code. men have always been required to wear a collared shirt to this area of the ground.
There are signs at the SCG members entry gate that state the dress code and says those that dont comply with it , will be refused entry.
i know that is rule is not always enforced but it is there for all to at the entry point.
i have noticed that scg trust do seem to enforce this rule on a random basis.
the gabba's members reserve has a the same rule , as does the mcg.
these rules have been in place for years , so if you wish to sit in these areas , instead of blaming the scg trust for all your woes. why dont you put on a collared shirt .this is not a hard concept to understand . no one is asking you to get blood from a stone.
if you dont want to wear a collared shirt sit at home and watch the game on the tv, then u can wear what u want to

This misses the point a bit. I agree that the rules have always been there, but the point is that during the AFL season, they have generally not enforced it at all other than in the actual Members stand. As such, it was such a shock to many Swans member who sit in the Noble Stand that they were enforcing it last week.

The issue is not that rule has been in place for 100 odd years! But that in my time of sitting in the Noble stand (five years) this has never been enforced until now. So what changed?

this rule is enforced randomly, some people claim to have never been asked , i have seen them enforce this rule quite a few times last season and in previous seasons.
but as i said previously , there is no excuse and you cant claim 'poor me' when the conditions of entry are written on signage above every turnstile entry point. The SCG Members entry conditions of entry signage notes dress regulations
