I see it was 9-2 Nietz, now 9-5.

The reason I asked because looking at the Sportodds.com site last night, I noticed that they bet on Hall v Neitz head to head for most goals.

They have Hall $2.10, Neitz $2.30 and $4.85 a draw.

I personally felt that as Hall is likely to play further up the ground then Neitz and we have more goal-scoring options, I'd have thought that Neitz would be a clear cut favourite.

Hall will give more away than he gets and Jamesy will win the battle at the other end!

Hall vs. Neitz re: impact on game- Hall

Overall most goals: Saddo if he plays the whole game at FF.
Agree 110%. Neitz may kick 6 from 8 possessions, but one thing he NEVER does is create goals for teammates unlike Bazza who might only kick 2, but could create another 4 or 5.

Do you remember when Bazza started doing this early last year? The other teams were so sure he'd kick that they never manned up - gave us at least 10 easy goals.

he creates a hell of a lot of goals

Not sure how many Demon games you see, but Neitz is by far the best player in the comp at hitting packs, providing a contest and bringing the ball to ground for the crumbers like Davey, Bruce, Vardy etc...

And this doesnt include charging to the ball at 100 km's an hour and giving off the handball to someone running towards goal

Yze, you definately have a point that Neitz hits packs hard and sets up goals, but he not 'by far the best player in the comp' at doing it.

I'd say him and BBBB are very, very similar in that stat. They are 2 of the best.

That is a different scenario to what Hall provides in terms of creating goals for our other forwards. Hall quite often actually has possession of the ball and dishes it off to a free forward while two or three defenders try and neutralise the big man. I hope you can see the difference there.

This is what I was referring to....sorry for not making the distinction about crashing packs and passing to teammates to create options.

No doubt that a guy as big as Neitz will bring the ball to ground for his crumbers if he can't hold the mark, most big forwards do this - Hall, Brown, Lynch, Tredrea, etc.

It's so damn obvious that Barry Hall is working to an unprecedented crescendo in his career. He really is a talent, well respected across the AFL world.

With Tarrant down for what looks to be a lot of 2004, I predict this to be Baz's first CHF All-Australian jumper.

                            Go Baz!

I just do not understand your belief that at some stage on Saturday night Neitz will be moved down the back into defence.

I have not seen that happen all this season and cannot recal it happening much, if at all last season when we were getting thumped.

The only time you will see him down the back on Saturday night is if his defender runs down there to try and snag a goal. Neitz will be beside him to try and cut it off.

I think this is a reflection of the positions they play on the ground. Neitz plays mainly as a leading forward out of the square wheras Hall plays across HF in the CHF position. Given the difference, I think both are very effective at what they do.
