Bleak city!?! You know that Melbourne gets more sunshine in summer and less rain during the year than Sydney. There is more to life than sun and beach!!

The weather is meant to be 16 and showers.

It's been done a couple of times. Most recently by ex-pats.
Didn't realise that about Manuka, one positive I guess.
Melbourne weather, ahem, average sunshine & temp in winter anybody???

Nice contradiction there! It's certainly not Sandringham beach you're talking about. Notice you havn't dared to compare winter weather stats. Only upside to the forecast is that we will get more experience in learning to cope, hope we learn fast.

Just a small note from another Melburnian - the weather is forecast to have showers on Saturday, yes. But please don't wish it was sunny instead, we actually NEED rain at the moment!

As for me, I am going with 3 Bomber fans to the game. I hope the showers don't get too heavy.

Thought you'd comment on that!! Anyway, bleak means gloomy and somber - Melbourne is nothing like that!!

Hard to - Melbourne actually has proper seasons... (often in a single day!!)

Going to the footy in the cool weather is great - true old fashioned Saturday afternoon game at the 'G. Hopefully the rain holds off - it's a bit nicer when it's dry and we play better!!

This game will be won or lost on the half forward flank.

Bleak City forecast for tomorrow (from BOM site) Showers earlier predicted have changed to rain tending to showers, with the added kicker of hail and thunder. Bleak is an excellent description!

A bit shallow to consider it bleak if it's not sunny!

Bleak is Newfoundland in winter or the frozen tundra of Russia's north.

Otherwise, by that measure, Sydney is positively tropical!!
