Buchanan in for Schneider? Should Mick O play?

Howdy interested in everyones thoughts on this, Buchanan looks the likely replacement for Schneider plays a similar style game and would have played before Schneider last year if not injured.

Would any other player be considered?

Play Mick O this week? although not an advocate of players needing 100% fitness as some can get by 75-80% but with his recent history would we like to see him get through a reserves game before risking him again?

Im not sure of the advantage of playing Rogers before LRT, dont we need LRT to build on the senior experience of last year? and this week against Richmond would seem the perfect game to drop LRT in a FP/FF/HF. Barry hall could really damage Richmond this week and our 2nd 3rd forward option could really take advantage of the fact Richmond will assign at least 2 players to compete against him.
    Your thoughts?

If the club is comfortable that he is a low risk to re-injure himself he should play seniors.

IMO Mickey O is too far above ACTAFL.

We could play Saddo forward again, but I think we need someone lower to the ground to crumb.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Would not be surprised to see Ablett for Davis and LRT for Rogers. What about Nicks for Schneider alt Buchanan?

Nice point about Nicks not a bad alt to Buchanan and he is a good crumber plus can kick a goal.

You reckon? Generally Nicks is an awful shot for goal, especially from a set shot.

I would like to see Mickey O play as if doesn't would be unlikely to travel to Perth were I feel MO would play a valuable part as the Eagles have a lack of qaulity defenders. Whats wrong with Davis? and Nicks has passed his used by date.

Mick will be named according to Roosy. 50/50 I would say. Davis looks a worry though.

Well, trying to think this thru logically -

O'Loughlin for Schneider is obvious. If Magic is unfit, then Buchanan must be favourite.

If Ablett for McVeigh was supposed to happen last week, then it will presumably happen this week.

Can't see the point in swapping LRT for Rogers. They both need senior experience, and Rogers didn't get much of a go against the Bombers. Would be sending a very strange signal if LRT comes back without even playing a reserves game?

Nicks is the wild card. He's still not fully match fit, but if Davis is out again, they may be tempted to rotate him off the bench for short bursts in the forward pocket?

As much as I'd like to see MO'L back... I don't want to risk him reinjuring himself. But there is no way he'd play in the ressies!

I'd like to see Buchanan and LRT in this week.

                    Surely Davis will be okay!??!?!?!

Is it just me or does anyone else think that it's time for Mick to just play because he has already stated that his body is shot so he is going to have to live with the pain.

He has been rested for 3 weeks now, ie "no point risking him".

When do you come to the point of risking him? Shall we rest him for 2004 for a fresh 2005? There is no fresh 2005 as his legs are buggared!

I reckon he either starts playing really soon or starts to contemplate retirement.

My apologies to all those blind devoted Mick lovers out there!

MOL did stationary skills ; Davis didn't train. Suggested that MOL will be named though

                          The questions for MOL, are;

If he plays what is the chance of reinjuring?

And is a 80% fit MOL, better value than a lesser player?

IMHO - leave MOL out and Davis, if they are struggling and give Rogers another run and probably Buchanan( I have not seen him play yet, so I am going by RWO opinions) and give Ablett or LRT another run.

We are playing the Tiges, which "should" be a win, so why not give these guys a full (or near full) game.

Is he fit enough for the Seniors???

He sure is handy around the goals!
