I LOVE them! Nothing more fun than walking up from work to the SCG but yeah probably aren't the best in this market.

Even though we got a 40,000 crowd to an Essendon match a few years back at our last SCG match on a rainy Friday night.

I love watching AFL any night of the week. I just hate the thought of wearing work gear to footy on a Friday night.

Please can we not talk about THAT match.

I know I'm lucky to work a company where you can where your scungies to work, but I dislike Friday night matches due to the stress of battling the traffic on Cleveland and South Dowling Sts. In the days when we played them, people were not getting in until quarter time.

Melbourne people might be bemused by this, as Friday nights at the G are a great way to wind down the week. But up here where transport is pure chaos, you arrive there stressed out of your brain.

The AFL is not stupid either. They know that if we played on a Friday, the Sydney viewing public would have to wait until 11pm to see them. Henceforth be it home or away, having the Swans on a Friday night is a no-no.

Used to enjoy Northern Spirit matches at North Sydney on Fridays though.

Still peeved about their sudden end to the Bombers game 4 weeks ago (?) with 5 mins to go.

I do like Channel 10. Though bring back After The Game (or Before The Game.. whatever it is called) on Saturday nights!!!!

Hope Channel 7 and 10 share rights... that would be grand!
            Agree 100%

Sick of channel nine zooming in so close you have no idea what is happening.
7 and 10 would be great.

I am still amazed at the deal 10 got with 9 and Foxtel.
            All the finals?

As far as I remember the rumour at the time was that Kerry Packer went ballistic about Ten getting the finals and Leckie left Nine as a result.

Channel 7 and footy would be great - especially to get rid of channel 9 - and dear Eddie. Would love to have Bruce back and get rid of the present commentators.
Channel 9 are hopeless - find watching replays very difficult they are not clever with their telecasts at all.
Channel 7 have it all perfect.
                Love those Swans

Some people have such such such short memories

On 7 Friday night footy in NSW & QLD most weeks it was lucky to actually start on a Friday on Seven

Seven's AFL coverage was a disgrace with a capital and bolded D

I agree their Northern coverage could be ordinary at times, but their overall coverage was brilliant IMO, and seeing that the southern ratings are so big, I think the AFL will be able to get a minimum service deal contracted for the northern states as part of the next deal.

Too true, while 7 didn't do it last time the AFL will make sure that they get Live Friday Night Prime Time coverage into NSW/QLD. 7 will more than likely take the hit in the ratings to get the rights back.

                        Until I saw 9 's coverage I thought CH7 sucked.
Talk about the grass being greener on the other side.
The sooner Channel Pie loses the rights the better.

While we're at it let's bring back The Big League on 7 and The Winners on CH2!

                        Now those were the days!

Looking forward to the day when AFL is back where it belongs: CH 7.

IMO there was no better or more passionate AFL commentator than Bruce Macaveney

CH 10s coverage and commentary are passable but CH9s team just boresme to tears

Why can't they all have it then we can see every game, or at least have a choice, of which game we want to watch. Esp. when there are 2 sat nite games we then have a choice of game.

I dont care what channel afl is on but i just want more of it. If friday night games start appearing on channel 7, then ill definitely watch it, whoever is playing. But i guess anything going against eddie will be funny...
