    Season over!

This season is over as far as I am concerned. We will simply be just another team making up the middle of the table, probably just scraping into the finals at best.

Some may say this is an overreaction to the loss but I don't think so.

After our poor performances all year I have tried to remain optimistic and look for positives in our performances, however I just don't see the point. The game today was symptomatic of how we have been all year - no effort and poor skills.

This is our worst loss in I don't know how many years.

Excluding the pie-eyed optimism coming into this year and not taking into account last year's (one-off?) good performance, there is virtually nothing to take from our team to point towards us being a leading side this year.

Far too many passengers in our side and a serious lack of talent and effort in the midfield.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

"[T]here are things that matter more and he's reading and thinking about them: heaven, reincarnation. Life and death are the only things that are truly a matter of life and death. Not football."

I have to agree. I did believe that we would be a top four side again - and we're good enough, which makes it worse - but there is simply no effort.

It must be pissing off Hall, Bevan, O'Keefe, James, Crouch - the ones who ARE workng, to see so many passengers!!!

Has anyone noticed how this season is almost a reversal of last season in terms of results.

Last year: Win our first game, lose our next three, game in the balance against Melbourne, manage to win that and then it was uphill from there.

This year: Lose your first game, win our next there, game in the balance against Melbourne, manage to lose that and then...downhill?

        That's it.
        We miss Cresswell terribly.
I don't think it's an over-statement to say that we have one of the worst midfields in the competition.

Still, we'll finish 7-12, but the hope for something special is gone.

Worst game we have played since we drew with St.Kilda at Colonial when they were at rock bottom. May as well be round 22 - what hope do we have next week at the WACA!

We need Schubs back ASAP. James works hard, but may be too short to be a viable FB.

I am very disappointed. No self-belief evident today. Tigers deserve to win.

1/3 of the way through the season. We're still playing pre-season footy.

I hope that we can pick it up, but have you seen anything to suggest we will?

A lousy game and a very poor performance by the Swans. Our wet weather skills were non-existent and we seemed to find Richmond players with our kicking and hand passes on a regular basis. Goodes seems to be out of sorts and until he gets back to his best form we will continue to struggle.

game againts lions at the gabba and roos at manuka.

it's time for some big changes in plan and attitude though. maybe roos can't afford to be every player's best mate any more.
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know

That performance was pathetic. Too many players who think they are better than they are.
Was does Goodes always try to do the spectacular? 3 goals after quater time is just not good enough, we are not a top 4 side and marginally a top 8 at best.
Very dissapointing. We should have won easily today.

Why was Crouch the only one who kicked off the ground, all others tried to pick it up like it was a dry footy?

Why Didn't we kick long into the forward line in Qtr 1 and 3? We did one in the 3rd Qtr and Hall marked and goaled.

We should have won it in the 3rd term to atleast put some pressure on the Tiges.

Richo was not paid enough respect! His hamstring should have been tested out a lot more.

The 2nd half was our worst effort for a long time.

Our Last Qtrs last yr were our best, this yr they are our worst.(Except Last rnd)

Can't play wet weather footy. Far too many passengers. Saddo plays for a qtr then did absolutely nothing. Fosdike, J.Bolton, Maxfield, Mathews, Ball all playing ordinarily. Our midfield is fairly ordinary. Goodesy needs to get back to basics as he's running around like a big girl at the moment. Do people now realise how important Michael O'Loughlin is to our side? IMO he's the most important.

                            EXACTLY!

I have never found it so frustrating to watch footy as I have this year. They love to fiddle with it, and invariably cough it up or run it in circles.

Agree entirely, my words to our (saddened) crew here was that in my 22 years of watching the Swans I don't think I have seen a worse performance given team on the park, opposition, current situation etc.

I thought we had lost it long before Richmond even took the lead, we had no drive whatsover.

And, before everyone blames Saddington, what the hell is Goodes doing?
