We got beaten AT HOME by a side who was regarded as the worst in the league. Also we DIDN"T LOOK like winning at any stage of the last half.

Surely you are joking. On recent performances there are several blokes in our side who are clearly not up to it. What are we meant to say? That they tried hard or some other crap. As far as I can see, there is only one positive at the moment, and that is that Micky is still to come back.

i agree that we could collectively be a bit more positive about this, but i was wondering the same thing.

Hey mate! I've probably been a supporter longer than you've been alive. Have no problem with whingeing about players performance today, because it was apalling. Giving up on the rest of the year is a sign of childishness and foresight.

Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE who thinks our season is over should go into the room of mirrors too.

For mine, the real problem is that we've become flakey again.

Losing games we should win, and being erratic, up-and-down within games themselves.

We're playing like we did in Eades last year - before Roos took over - when we lost a dozen game by less that a dozen pts (or whatever).

Sure, we'll probably recover a bit, but we should be at about 100-1 for the flag now.

flag schmag, i just want to beat collingwood at telstra stadium on the weekend when eddie and the rest of his stupid show's cast have got nothing else to talk about.

this, i definitely believe, we can still achieve.

You talk about patience... I have sat through far too many seasons where we struggle to win games and finish mid table.

Our efforts so far this year are no different.

Everyone came into this year feeling quite optimistic, but so far this year we've shown very little to be happy about.

We did okay against Brisbane in rd 1, but I think that is partly underestimating how many players they were missing and how underdone they were. Let's not forget, we did lose that game too.

We smashed the 'Roos, but given they struggled to beat Carlton, were flogged by St Kilda, were beaten by the Bulldogs, and had us in trouble for a while, I'm not sure if we can hang our hat on that one game.

At this stage of the year, we look very very ordinary and there is little suggest there will be a major turnaround. Perhaps we will improve a lot later in the year, but there is an enormous amount of improvement required for us to have a year that would be considered a success. I'm not sure where that is going to come from and I'm not overly confident of seeing it.

Having followed the Swans for as long as I have, betting on them underperforming is unfortunately usually where the payoff is!!
