      Never doubted his talent.

Back injuries dont make you lazy, which Nicks has certainly been

I actually dont begrudge him the chance to make the milestone as he has been a good servant of the club in the past. He would have to lift his effort dramatically from the last couple of years tho to dislodge even a potentially good youngster IMHO.

We definitely need Magic back in the side. I think if Nicks plays it will be his 150th game. 100 for Davis as well.

        Go boys!!!

no doubt I'll get howled down for this - but if Warfe is fit it might be worth giving him a crack in the ones - we are struggling for tall defenders right now and its a role he has played in the past - indeed this situation is probably the very reason he was retained on the list

I know no-one will agree with me, but I think it's worth a gamble

.....and none of the players listed above will have their milestones on the banner, because its already been made and on its way to Perth. Looks like they will have to wait a week to get it on there.

HOWL!! If Warfe ever gets another game it will be a sure sign we will finish bottom of the table. It is true we are struggling for tall defenders but at least we are struggling. Play Warfe and the struggle will be over. Death is a certainty. He has played the role in the past so we know exactly what he is capable of...and it is just not good enough. Not nearly good enough. Better to blood youngsters in the role rather than rehash old failures.

IF you want to gamble try one of Kerry's casinos.

Stop-gap measure, again?? I thought we have enough of that with Eade. It is time to move on. What is the benefit of playing Warfe as a tall defender? So that we will loose by a smaller margin? how about our playing future?? how about blooding Rogers/James?? Stop-gap measure brings us NOTHING. History has proven that times and times again.

This is nothing to do with our playing future or blooding youngsters. It is simply about winning this Saturday against West Coast and resurrecting our season. If the selectors feel X is the man over Y for this specific task then so be it. You can be rest asured they are only looking at this weekend.

Our objective is to win the flag, it is not about winning the next game (except for the finals). To win the flag, you MUST develop a team capable of doing so. Warfe is simply not good enough. it is a proven fact. Playing him does not get us any closer to achieving our objective.

If any selector would put a game ahead of the whole campaign, the club should have sacked him.

Lose this game and the rest of the 2004 season is perfect for development because the finals will be irrelevant. (We might still qualify but at 7 or 8 and ready for a quick despatch.)

Exactly. The selectors should pick the team that they feel will win this game, not a team with an eye on the future.

That is exactly the opposite philosophy to that proposed by Paul Roos when he was selected as coach and which was so whole heartedly endorsed by so many on RAWO.COM.

I haven't commented on this before but what I find really depressing is not so much our unexpected losses ( I expected them last year) but how quickly so many have jumped off the band wagon and are so willing to stick the knife into our coach.

I have believed from the beginning of Roos' tenure that we have a average list. Few stars and few we could trade or even give away as demonstrated by our inability to trade at the end of last year. We have a small backline. We have a midfield that is either aging or unskilled. We have one ageing ruckman, one that is too short and one that is probably too unskilled. Our depth is affected by injury and/or lack of talent. Paul Roos got the most out of out list last year but this year injuries and the difficulty of getting all players to play at their maximum ability for 100 minutes may be telling. I am pretty sure Roos thought we would finish bottom half of the ladder last year and that he would get good draft picks rather than middling.

I am prepared to support him for a few more years at least. What about you? I do want to see some major improvemants in talent identification at the next draft.

I'd like to see him develop the list rather than purely focus on winning this week. This is basically what happened to Eade, and the use of Warfe and maybe Nicks seems a bit like this.

My disappointment in not at losing, I have become way too familiar with that, but with attitude, performance and effort.

What I want to see at the end of year, as I stated at the beginning of the year, are signs that we will become more of a force next year. What those signs are I'm not completely sure yet. I never expected us to win this year, although given where much of the competition is, it wouldn't be impossible if we played like last year.

I want to see Sydney develop into a top notch, long term AFL side, and that will take some time.
