Okay it's not possessions, inside 50s, clearances or application that count. What is it then? Hairstyle?

(If it is I'm not surprised that Nicks isn't still in reserves with Bazza, LRT and the newly bleached Bevan and Schneider alongside him.)

As for Willo, I certainly don't think he's been playing at this best and his disposal hasn't been as good as previous years, but he's still playing better than the vast majority of the team.

Maybe with Willo the fact he seems to be playing more across Half Back, could be the reason he isn't having the same impact as his last three seasons with us, because I can't recall him being on the run towards the 50 and having a long shot at goal. I can only remember 3 or 4 off the top of my head. Maybe he needs to play on a wing or half forward.

Will have to look at that. Still - it doesn't dilute my point about James.

I can remember at leat three this year and he has missed every single one.

We lead 14 nothing on Sat...clean break from the ensuing centre bounce, Willo runs uncontested to 45 directly in front to really steal a march on the game....He misses (yet again). They run up the other end and score....then another in a minute and all of a sudden the wind is out of our sails.

                  Q time 5 goals apiece.

Not blaming him for the loss...but geez these little misses are important.

Rogers was on Jacko for his first two goals.

I thought we didn't have any stars?

The result, the win or loss, is the product of the team (and that includes the coach). If you can pick a game this season when everyone played at their best except for one player - then feel free to single him out. Otherwise you're merely selecting a victim to vent your anger against.

Finding a scapegoat is too simple. Otherwise let's just start a thread each weekend we lose to vote on which player cost us the game. That'd be positive . . .

Rogers and James not up to it

Both boys are still babies at the game and have been thrown in at the deep end with the injury to Schaubs. Heath has had some tough ones but he will learn with experience. I have no doubt he will make it. The jury is still out on Rogers but he played some useful games pre-season. The question is have we got anyone any better at this stage. Matt Davis is 5 years away as is Taylor!

To say that Rogers isnt up to it is way off the mark. The club is trying to make him into a back but he is a natural forward. To have him on Jackovich & Matera makes me really question Roos's thinking.

There is just no spot for him now and not in the forseeable future in the forward line.

By necessity he is being tried in the backline, I would imagine. Many young forwards spend time in the backline early in their career if they are seen to perhaps lack a bit of accountability in the defensive side of their forward work.

My observations are that Rogers is an extremely poor mark for a natural forward.

i came on here on sunday or monday not seeing the game. i read a lot of posts flaming players etc and was able to watch the game with retrospect to most of these comments and i just have to LAUGH!!!

the average height of people on this site must be about 7ft, due to the soap boxes everyone is on

james barely put a foot wrong, there were two marks against him that he had a slim chance to spoil but the ball was delivered so well that it was hard for him to dislodge it

rogers gave a good fight, he went to ground a couple of times but thats about all that went wrong

jako's three goals came from a SOFT free kick, a goal in general play (where rogers over committed on the ball and left his man, which was fine as a shot on goal was inevitable), and one from outside 50 after a perfect pass on to his chest!!!

willo, while he did kick a couple of shockers, hit bazza on the chest three times which led to shots on goals... a number of his possessions, he was forced to kick around the corner after playing on

leo and tadhg provided an excellent springboard off half back, leo's mistake when playing on matera was helping out in the contest, matera stayed down

buccy just keeps impressing as well

essentially, all these comments of negativity come from people that take 'a feeling' out of the game and run with it, watch the tape again, and maybe again and have a look at your comments and have a laugh at yourself, coz i know i am
