    James named on the bench

Rogers has been dropped and WARFE HAS BEEN RECALLED.

Fosdike named in the forward pocket and Willimas on the ball. Saddington at CHB. Mmmmm.

Hawks have left out Holland and Thompson although Thompson is on the extended bench.

Schwab has already said that Nathan Thompson will play VFL this week. Rogers and Davis out.

Surely Goodesy will be given 1 week - I am very concerned that he is even named.

Nick Davis being omitted really tells the story of the last few weeks. He obviously hasn't been up to scratch with Roosy taking a punt on him to kick a few goals.
I want to see Nick at full fitness ala 1st half round 1!!!!!!!!!!

Why oh why oh why did we have to recall Warfe??? Surely this must be seen as some sort of white flag. Oh well if he plays and does well bonus, if not well at least its an option that we won't have to bother with again.

One part of me is elated that Goodes is still appearing on the list, and the other part is worried that the need to risk him so early in the season against a struggling team like the Hawks at home suggests we're a little closer to hitting the wall than I feared?

Couldn't be happier for the bloke if it's true, tho!

Really who knows, but going by the track record of such events I guess we'll see Goodes back in the side in 8 weeks. I really don't think playing him this week is worth the risk long term.

Hawks have left out Holland and Thompson although Thompson is on the extended bench.
Well right there, their height advantage isn't so great as some have been making it out to be.

He wasn't omitted, he has a thigh injury.

Sorry I didnt clarify myself - yes I know he was omitted due to injury - thus tells a tale of the last few weeks IMO.

Rogers may have been omitted because of an ankle injury.

Goodes' knee injury is the sort of injury that one can recover quickly from, given careful management. It also depends on the exact nature and extent of the injury and the individual player. Some players can recover from this kind of injury quickly enough to play the following week and some need up to two months of rehab.

Goodes is also due for more medical tests tomorrow. Because the Swans play on Sunday, we don't have to name the final 22 until after Goodesy has his tests. For the moment he's still in the side just in case the medical tests give better news than expected.

I expect he won't play, but I'm hoping he'll be fit to play against the Sainters in two weeks.

Should the Brownlow medalist Adam Goodes play in the ruck anymore, knowing that sooner or later, with the centre bounce rules the way they are, he'll probably damage his knee and have to go through a knee reconstruction sometime in his career, if they keep playing him in that position?
Is Goodes too important a player to risk a possible loss of a season of football?

And, as Roos keeps saying, Jared Crouch played the next week with his, Magic was out for ages. It's an individual thing.
