This may sound like a stupid question but have the Hawks found a different way to kick a football to get it to bounce as if it had backspin? Last night I watched the R19 game of 2003 again and time and again there would be a Hawk lose kick that a Swan would be running to. The ball would hit the deck and bounce over the Swan's head into the hands of the Hawk chasing him. Then I saw it again a few times today. Of course, you always have the luck of the ball bounce but there are a lot more than chance would predit in our last two Hawks games.

I just wondered if the win over the Hawks by a point was enough to motivate players. According to your comment it's hardly inspiring win. We play against much more motivated teams in a couple of weeks than the Hawks (Buldogs and Saints for example) and it doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence.Comment

No doubt they will go over the game and identify all the things that didn't go well, but if they can scrap another win next week (though hopefully by more than a point), the following week they should really just go out to enjoy, take a few risks and the old style confidence may just come flooding back.
Kennelly is starting to work back into some form, as is Maxfield. Barry has found a new level of determination over the past two games, O'Loughlin will keep getting better as he gets more game time, Buchanan at the clearances is a bonus we probably didn't expect - there are lots of positives. They just have to create more and more over the next couple of weeks.Comment

It'll be interesting to see if the Doggies have the intensity to play to hold us down. From what I've seen they play to win (but spray goal shots all over the place) rather than playing to restrict their opposition. But they won well today so will be pumped, too.Comment

If it had've been soccer it would've been a nil all draw.
Nothing to get excited about.
We didn't need the 4 points anyone, lets donate to Hawthorn!!!
You must've been watching the Weagles game if you didn't think much of the game

Well, it wasn't pretty. far from it. In fact, the performance had definitely been beaten about the head a couple of times with the ugly stick.

No, Geelong was an ugly game. Today was chronically untidy. The Swans showed lots of promise today but also made lots of silly mistakes.Comment

people are also forgetting the wind factor in a 4 quarters of non-consistent football
1st and 3rd quarters - kicking with the wind
2nd and 4th - kicking against itC'mon Chels!Comment

It would imply that without wind at the end of every quarter the scores should be level.
We should have done more with the breeze and stopped them better against it.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

We should have kicked 25 unanswered goals, too.Comment
