Everitts was unlucky. I thought the ball wasn't totally over the line but it brushed the padding on the post at the same time he made his second grab, therefore behind.
Croads was interesting, the umpie obviously though Everitt had enough of it to call it play on, the replays pretty clearly show that he didn't.
We got a bit of good luck today, but we've got to start putting together more than 2 quarters of footy.

Croad's non paid mark came from an umpiring error in paying afree against Leo for running too far. He took 4 steps, then bounced, then took 15....I reckon the umpire missed the bounce.

FM if the umps paid a free every time a player took 15 steps there would be a whole new ball game!

I thought there were very few frees yesterday, way less than normal...<checks>... yep - only 19 frees yesterday, the lowest this season - going backwards in time the count for previous rounds is 25,35,39,33,22, 39, 30, 31.

Pretty clear that the second grab was over the line...don't know about brushing the post.

Actually I've just been informed on BF that Adam was actually right!

            Per the rules:

15.6.1 (f) hits the football Out of Bounds on the Full from a boundary throw or a field bounce or throw by a field Umpire.

There were two points of contention, the other being whether the Hawthorn player who was the third man up also punched the ball, which would technically result in the ball not going out on the full.
