    I loved the commentators

They started out quite ok...but when Hawthorn scored and looked like they might win, the excitement in their voices went up a notch...don't you just luv Dermie...he practically has an orgasm everytime someone gets a whack in the mush, a knee in the ribs or an elbow to the head...
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

One thing I like about Dermie ( no it's not his haircut ) is the fact that even though he is on the Hawthorn board and has a big role down at the club with training also - he is extremely impartial and gives balanced views for both teams - not like McChin.

I like Dermie's commentating. I think the 3 Ds make a good team.

Hmm. I seem to recall some mention of "Crouchie's pretty blue shoes" at one point that kind of annoyed.

I reckon Dwayne is a bit weird. Does not really like the Swans all that much! In fact I think he hates us.

Saw the last bit of Dermie's call and I thought he kept his head and kept talking about how the Swans need to lock it up as opposed to the Hawks and what they need to do. Showed real professionalism.

The mob that I can't take is Tim Gossage in the West. That bloke has no idea how to appear impartial!

Matthew Kennedy (doing less and less thank god) is just about the worst in the business.

My favourite caller and it's a bit of a smokey, is Jason Bennett with Fox. Jason's call is outstanding. He has the fast lips of Eddie, the turn of phrase of Dennis and the stern impartiality of Tim.

Jason's still young so he will only get better!

Dermie not biased????????????.When Goodes hit the ball out of bounds from a throw in(it bounced a few times before going over the line) Dermie had to be restrained from running onto the field and demanding a free kick until he realised it had to be knocked out on the full.

I think Dermie is actually very impartial in his commentary, if you listened closely and when a Swans player did something good, he would say 'well done'.

Couldn't stand Brian Taylor though, first time I've heard him and I thought he was crap.

I noticed that and thought it interesting as it was one of the few times when I thought his bias was obvious.

Just because he felt that Hawthorn should have got a free kick doesn't mean he is biased. I believe he was one of the first ones to point out that the Swans should have got a free kick when the Hawks punched the ball out on the full at the other end.

Yep, may not be the best commentator going round but his bias is certainly not heard.

Yeah, I hate that guy as well. Annoying West Australian accent as well! Nearly comes to a climax whenever the Dockers kick a goal (even though people in Perth have succintly advised me that he is actually a St Kilda supporter.) But living in Perth they are seriously deluded into thinking that all that is important is what is running around in blue/gold or purple. Footy over there is a real goldfish bowl. Even the SA-based commentators are far less Port/Crows-focussed than those in Groper land.

Dwayne Russell has an annoying slow way of speaking which is really irritating. His call just isn't exciting as a result. Dennis Commetti has a similar slow way of speaking, but colours his calls with clever quips and witty plays on words.

Brian Taylor is worth more time, but has a very ocker sounding voice. I hate how he says "hee-ya" as opposed to "here". Listen to how he says "Pow-wagh!" when Port are playing.

No, but when he excitedly yelled out "don't touch it, don't touc it, that's a free kick" he was probably wearing his Hawthorn hat then!

So he wears his hair like that to distract us from his true secret - coloured shoes?
