BreakFree Limited, whose subsidiary BreakFree Resorts operates 26 Management Letting Rights (MLR) businesses from Coffs Harbour through to Port Douglas, has entered the world of V8 motorsport sponsorship, signing as a major sponsor of the Howard Racing team. Howard Racing, which competes in the second tier Konica Minolta Series, will brand lead driver Cameron McLean?s number 27 car with BreakFree?s distinctive red, white and black colours as part of the deal. A spokesperson from BreakFree told ASN that this is the first major sponsorship the company has ever undertaken and the deal runs for the next 12 months. Team owner Mark Howard, who juggles his passion of motor racing with a successful career in property development and construction, said the team is motivated to creating success on and off the track and he believe that BreakFree is an ideal sponsor who shares the same commitment to success. BreakFree managing director Tony Smith, who played AFL football for the Sydney Swans, said BreakFree and Howard Racing are a good business match. He said V8 racing is exciting, vibrant and instantly recognisable with good times, which fits well with BreakFree. Smith added that the sponsorship arrangement will provide valuable exposure for their brand as the Konica series travels around the country.
