I don't think that Adelaide and Western Australian supporters are complaining about being able to see their team more than one game a year. If Melbourne supporters had their way, Sydney would play all of its games in Melbourne
6 seems to be the number most people are happy to settle for.

I'm not too keen on any night matches at the SCG now that my secret car spot has been made into a bloody no parking zone. Bastards!
It's alright during the day cause you can park in Centennial Park for nothing and not have to deal with the Moore Park mass exodus."My theory is that the universe is made out of stupidity because it's more plentiful than hydrogen" - Frank ZappaComment

1 in SA
1 in Qld
12 in Sydney
either 6 in Vic and 1 in ACT
or 7 in Vic and 1 more in WA or SA
The hardest pill to swallow for me was that one of the Vic games is in Geelong
It is fair that WA, SA and QLD get a game every year.
The main problem here is that there are many many Swans supporters in Victoria, left over from supporters of the Swans when they were based here, and their children and grandchildren etc.
We aren't asking to play every Victoria team in Victoria, and so WA and SA supporters shouldn't be asking to see both teams from those states played twice every year.
It is fair to have maybe 6 Melb games one year and 7 the next etc, and every so often there will only be 5 in Victoria.
It is bound to happen.
When it does, the AFL should make sure one of those 5 isn't a Geelong game. The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.Comment

What about we use this thread to formulate and agreed response between all Swans members wherever you are based. Post all comments here over the weekend, and on Monday I'll write up an open letter.
I will post it here and ask each of you to comment. I will then revise it and ask each of you to respond and agree to it.
The club knows who we are. We are a diverse group of fans who quite often have very different opinions. This is not an effort to 'control' the club nor are we under any dillusions that we are anything other than people who love our club (Hi SSI)
So how about it, a joint submission by all fans. (sorry WA and SA fans, but upfront we will request a max of 1 game in each of those states)Comment

Bart - I am going to send my own e-mail now, but I'm happy to put my name to anything that requests real improvement for Melbourne-based fans. Where Sydney-based interests don't collide with ours, I have every reason to support them.
I think the fundamental ones should be 12 in NSW/ACT, 7 in Melbourne/Geelong.We hate Anthony Rocca
We hate Shannon Grant too
We hate scumbag Gaspar
But Leo WE LOVE YOU!Comment

i think it's also important that we play in SA, WA and Qld at least once during the H&A rounds. we don't want to be travelling there for the first time in (say) a PF."As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.Comment

My ideal breakdown has ALWAYS been 12 in NSW/ACT, 7 in Vic, 1 each in the other major states.
Whether that 12th game is in Sydney or Canberra doesn't matter too much to me.We hate Anthony Rocca
We hate Shannon Grant too
We hate scumbag Gaspar

Mark, if Bart wants me to specifically support the Bulldogs game, I'm happy too. It's not the foremost issue in my mind, but given the choice I'd say the Bulldogs one, as can be inferred from my letter to Tony Morwood posted in the "Melbourne fans unite" thread.
I don't think anyone is pretending that their own aims don't come first. I certainly don't believe that Bart is, and I have no problem with that. The whole idea here is to have complimentary aims that don't clash with each other, so that we can all be on the same page. I believe we have that.
Of course, our serial anti-Vic based supporters poster MUST come in and attempt to break up this sudden cooperation, mustn't you?We hate Anthony Rocca

Not much has changed from this year. So unless the swans are willing to forego a game in Sydney, there really is little hope of any salvation for Melbourne fans unfortunately. And from a team point of view, I think they would be happy with as many home games in Sydney as possible, so this is probably unlikely.Go you mighty BLOODBOYS!Comment

Our requests for next season should be in the following order.
- 3 Saturday Night Matches at Telstra Stadium against Brisbane (Round One) Collingwood (Split Round 13) and Essendon (Sometime between Round 19 and 22)
- 8 Home Games at the SCG of which at least 3 are Saturday Night matches and 4 are Sunday Afternoon matches. The 8th match is the ANZAC Clash against the Dees, on the date closest to ANZAC Day.
- Six Games in Victoria of which 5 are at the MCG or Telstra Dome. The sixth is at either Optus Oval and Skilled Stadium. All games to be on a Saturday.
- A 12th match in NSW/ACT. Most likely to be Canberra against the Roos.
- Only 3 trips outside Victoria/NSW.
- Start the season at home and end it at home for once.Once was, now elsewhereComment
