The bookends - Hall & Barry

How good were the Swans bookends, Barry Hall & Leo Barry, on the weekend ?!

I thought Leo Barry played the most outstanding game at Full-Back for the Swans on the leading goalkicker in the competition since the days of Andrew Dunkley in full flight. 23 possessions to two possies by Gehrig is what I call complete domination. Add to that the fact that, along with Adam Goodes, that Leo set up so may attacking moves into the forward line.

If only Schauble was back fit and firing, the Swans will have a backline worthy of giving the flag a tilt. Schauble would be handy alongside the run of Kenelly & Barry, the height and adaptability of Goodes, the durability of C.Bolton and the courage and close checking of Paul Bevan. A good backline is the ingredient to winning a premiership.

As for Beautiful Bionic Blindingly Brilliant Barry Hall, once again he was double and triple teamed but still kicked 5 goals. Hall ran Penny to exhaustion up till half way through the third quarter, whereby Penny had to be relieved of minding Hall and Hudgton went onto BBBB Hall. I bet Penny hasn't been run around like that for quite a while !!

What stars the bookends, and Goodesy, were yesterday.

Also, my man Jarrod McVeigh continues to impress with some telling stats and a crucial goal yesterday. Let's hope Roosy gives him more ground time due to Maxfield and Williams retiring in the next year or two !!

    Go Bloods.
